Experience the magic of Lapland's winter through its four unique phases! ❄️✨

When visiting Lapland it is beneficial to understand that our winter is not the same throughout, but actually holds within it four different stages.

1. First Snow:
Late October to early November, the first snowflakes touches the ground, freezing lakes and rivers. The nights grow longer, bringing more Northern Lights and the start of the Christmas spirit. 🎄✨ It's good to note, that not all winter activities are yet available, especially during the first part of this phase.

2. Kaamos / Polar Night:
In December, the sun stays below the horizon, painting the sky with beautiful pastel colors. During this time, Lapland radiates the festive spirit of Christmas, drawing people in to enjoy the magic. Most of the winter activities are available during this time as well, making it the perfect Christmas escape.

3. Peak Winter:
January brings deep snow and Arctic temperatures as low as -30°C, creating a surreal scenery around. Walk through knee-deep snow, chase the Northern Lights, or take an exciting snowmobile tour. Peak winter is a true Lappish experience 🌨️🏔️

4. Snow Crust / Spring Winter:
February welcomes sunny days and perfect snow conditions for winter sport lovers. Enjoy snowshoeing, husky rides, and skiing with glittering snow and clear skies. And don't worry, the nights are still dark, allowing you to hunt for Northern Lights. ☀️❄️
