It's Dolphin city of Yorkshire today with 60 seen in the seas off Filey and Scarborough earlier and just now a further 20 passing Whitby heading south, thanks to Whitby Coastal Cruises for the latest report (library photo)

Dolphins off Yorkshire again this morning with about 46 Bottlenose Dolphin having past Scarborough currently heading towards Filey. This was a record count of Bottlenose Dolphin for the bird observatory at Long Nab at Burniston (library photo)

It's that time of year again. The summer holidays are here and we don't want to see them spoiled through a lack of local knowledge.

These little critters bury themsleves in the sand and the sting from their dorsal fin, should you stand on one, is a holiday souvenir that you won't forget in a hurry.

It's excruciating!

Wear beach shoes! Especailly if the tide is more than half way out. Weever fish are found on all UK beaches.
