Surrounded by the Arabian Sea on three sides, the sleepy villages of Gorai, Uttan and Manori are home to many a hidden story, tales and legends. What started as a cluster of fishing villages in North Konkan, Uttan became an important political acquisition for the European and Maratha powers. The tale of conquests, strategy, religion, beliefs, ghosts stories, smuggling and political tactics are present in its labyrinths.

Our tour pays an ode to these lesser-known facts and unknown stories. Our e-bike tour starts from the Marve Jetty. Armed with your personal Yulu bike you go to Manori on a short ferry ride across: that’s where your adventure begins.

Enroute listening to stories about Marathas, Portuguese and British history, you will ride past charming villages, the home of legendary goddesses, Hero stones, an ancient forts, palatial mansions and end your tour with a breakfast at a local East-Indian house. You’ll also be taken to a point which overlooks the Pagoda.

Stories, legends, folklores, history, food, all this while getting some exercise on a Sunday morning, what's not to like?

The Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai gives protection not only to the wild creatures but also provides sustenance to many fruit sellers inside the park, like this woman we met early morning on one of our trails.

She stays within the park in the local wada (small village) and makes her living by selling fruits during the day.

Like so many of us, she has been touched by Covid… she lost most of her family members during covid.
