We would like to thank our dear guests Vasyl and Julia for sharing the pictures of Fašinada 2021.

Today, on July 22, picturesque coastal town of Perast celebrates Fašinada for the 571st time.

Fašinada is an ancient traditional public holiday of Bay of Kotor which celebrates the Holy Virgin on the Reef (Gospa od škrpjela) - the man-made island in front of the town of Perast.

The legend tells a story of 2 seamen run aground at this very place and discovered an icon of the Mother of God there. Thus locals decided to build an island on the shallows and open a church to commemorate this discovery.

Since that time every July 22 a parade of boats lead by habitants of Perast dressed as local seamen go to the island while singing traditional songs to throw stones near it (so the the manmade island remains intact throughout the years).

In 2013 the holiday and the parade was declared to be non-material cultural national treasure of Montenegro.

Summer season 2021 is in full swing in Montenegro at the moment. And healthcare authorities of Montenegro have published the peocedure to apply for a 🥳 FREE PCR-tests ✅ for tourists returning back home, here is what you should do - 5 easy steps:

1) 3 days before your departure you must send an email (which includes your name, surname, passport details, phone number, name of the country you are returning to, and date of your departure) to [email protected]

2) get a reply with details when and where to make the test

3) make the test

4) get the result of the test in 24-48 hours

5) enjoy your trip home ❤

we definitely do our best to speak your native language or to find a common language to answer all your questions and requests.

💌 Thus we offer our unique Welcome Letter in 5 most polupar languages among our guests - English, Українська, Русский Српски, Français, and this is not the final list 😉

In these letters you will find all necessary information a traveller might need - exact location of tge apartment, nearest parking, nearest beaches and city sights, nearest restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, car rentals, public transport, working hours and national holidays, manuals for devices in the apartment, WiFi details, emergency numbers and Covid-19 hot line, local laws and tourist registration tax, additional services (such as airport transfers, guided tours, local cuisine experiences etc) and so on.

We did a great team job collecting, writing and translating this precious information that we are happy to share with all our guests, and continue to regularly update this information.

And we'll be happy to improve it further on, so please, if you have any ideas of languages, or information that we should add, or in case you come across any misprints, feel free to share any suggestions with us! Your feedback is always precious ❤

Easter in Montenegro

First of all let us congratulate all Orthodox Christians on Happy Easter Sunday 🙏💐❤

🌷 According to census 2011, 72% of Montenegrin population are Orthodox Christians, that is why this year the Easter was on Sunday, May 2 (the Sunday after the first full moon after Passover) and now Orthodox Christians are celebrating Paschal season (or Easter season) which ends with the coming of the 40th day, the Feast of the Ascension.

🇲🇪 In Montenegro Easter celebrations are one of the main national holidays with days off and family gatherings.

🐣 Most people celebrate Easter by preparing special Easter delicacies (coloured eggs, Easter pies, cottage cheese deserts, marzipan figurines etc), because it is the end of the Great Lent (fasting season which lasts for 40 days before Easter).

👑 the magic chef who created the Easter delicacies which you can see in pictures in carousel is our beloved friend Branca. She is a real magician who cooks culinary masterpieces which are not only mouth watering but also beautiful as art 😍 come to Montenegro to try it yourself 😉

🥧 People in Montenegro invite friends and relatives for lunch on Sunday afternoon and before that they all also get together for Procession Path at midnight on Easter Sunday.

🤗 Traditional greetings or congratulations on Easter Day sound like: "Christ is risen" and an answer to this is "He is risen indeed", or just "Happy Easter" 😊🌷
