This Fridays adventure took us North past Oughtibridge along Plank Gate then past Wortley Hall and then eventually back via Meadowhall. We spotted a tipi in a field near Wortley so went to take a look and found a Wagyu Burger place which was delicious! That’s probably the last one before Christmas now!

It’s part of giving you more choice in how you get around the city centre.

It’s officially open! Sheffield’s first (and the UK’s second) “Dutch Style” roundabout which prioritises pedestrian and cyclist safety. I watched it for about an hour and I must say that the car drivers did well in obeying the new road markings. This is very exciting and a fantastic new addition to our growing cycle network.

Have you been to IceSheffield? We took part in the family session which was great fun. I can’t really skate but only fell over once! I wasn’t brave enough to take any selfies! This is one of Sheffields amazing sports venues as part of our Olympic Legacy Village.

We went South towards Chesterfield’s wonky spire and found a weird brick ball on our way home!

Once we left Sheffield via Meersbrook and Graves Park, we were in completely uncharted territory so lots of stops to check directions but we luckily found a chippy for a lunchtime snack by a canal! I couldn’t even begin to describe how we got home! Luckily Google Maps/Komoot found us a way!

Another Friday, another epic ride. This time to Castleton. We wanted to check out the Old Mam Tor Road but felt a bit tired and hungry when we got there so headed back to Hope for some food. Great weather today! I saw dozens of cyclists out and about.

Some crazy weather for my Friday ride. We ascended through thick fog then finally dropped below the cloud into the Peak District. Eventually we made it to which was an absolute delight. Amazing food and a lovely welcome from Stella herself.

The cloud had vanished by the time we headed home. I did about 58km which is a new record for me!

I haven’t seen the sun in ages! But no rain and no wind = perfect cycling weather.

We attempted to go around Strines Reservoir today but sadly the road was closed due to a landslide! It was really dangerous so we turned around and went back to Low Bradfield for cake.

Being a particularly hilly city, Sheffield’s hillsides provide some great vantage points where you’ll be able to see fireworks across the city this evening- an easy alternative if you’re not heading to an organised display.🌃⛰️

This weekend we had a spooky visit to Storrs Woods (near Stannington) for a ‘s Pumpkin trail. It was so great to see the mossy sculptures and the pumpkins. We also enjoyed the storytelling around the fire pit.

Accidentally Halloween themed ride today! 🎃

The mist made it really hard to see which made it really spooky! You never knew if there was an SUV lurking around each bend! 👻

I thoroughly enjoyed stopping at for ice cream. It’s worth climbing up the hills for it!
