I’ve lived in Santa Barbara for eight years and had never made it to the Hot Springs in Montecito before today. Let me tell you, it was so worth it! Spouting Horn is another easy and fun sight to see with the kiddos if you’re on Kauai’s South Shore. Park and walk to the vista point just a few feet away for awesome views like this!

💦B A B Y B E A CH 💦 If you’re looking for a kid-friendly, less crowded beach on the South Shore of Kauai, this is where it’s at! There’s a great break for the waves and even some natural wading pools for the littlest of tykes. Where have you encountered some of your favorite kid-friendly beaches??
We had some company at Poipu Beach yesterday 🐢🐢🐢 Get there early for the chance to see honu (sea turtles) catching some ☀️ on the sand. This is a great beach for younger and older kids alike with a shallow lagoon area and some easy access snorkeling. Have you been to Poipu Beach before?
The pool is one for the books and has been named the ‘Best Pool in America’. It’s great for kids of all ages with water slides, a wading entrance, splash pad and more. There’s also a separate “adults-only” pool if you’re traveling without kiddos. We’re looking forward to our poolside cabana rental today! When you travel, what features do you look for in a pool?

You just can’t beat beach views like this 🏖 We head to Kauai in just a few days and you can bet we’ll be spending the majority of our time at tranquil, kid-friendly beaches like this one. We’ve found that - especially with little ones - sometimes just planning one big adventure per day is best, leaving the rest up to spontaneity and whatever your kiddos need that day (like naps or low-key time at the hotel). What’s your vacation mode when traveling with infants - 3-year-olds? Go-go-go or taking it easy?

One week countdown until vacation! 🏖 We’re heading to beautiful Kauai for the first time since the pandemic and I’m starting prep today! Here are my top tips for traveling with kids:
1️⃣Pack snacks. Lots and lots of snacks. Be sure to include some with nutritional value, especially protein!
2️⃣ Don’t shy away from screen time for travel days. Do what you need to make it though.
3️⃣ Don’t overpack, especially if you’ll have access to laundry. I find that if you start packing early, you have time to really think about what you’re packing and pare down as needed.

If you’ve never treated yourself to a chartered yacht on vacation, you’ve been missing out! There are tons of great places to do this (anywhere with a body of water!) but my favorite spot so far is the Amalfi Coast. Who wouldn’t want a ride like this to Capri for the day? 🛥🍋🥂

The giraffes are livin’ the life with ocean views and multiple feedings by hand per day. This zoo is the perfect size for littler tykes with playgrounds, a train and more 🦍🦁🐢 There are even beverages for the adults (🍺🍷) so everyone will leave happy! Have you ever been to the Santa Barbara Zoo??

🍷WINE TASTING WITH KIDS 🍷It can be done! Here are my tips to make it easier for all those involved:
1️⃣ Call in advance. Ask if they allow children and, if so, ask to make a reservation. Don’t just show up.
2️⃣ Often, a winery that allows you to purchase bottles to enjoy while on site is a better bet so you’re not trying to corral kids and listen to your host’s “spiel” at the same time.
3️⃣ Bring snacks and something for the kids to do.
