This tour of Jaffa Road (aka the famous Parking Lot Tour) will meet at the "I love Jerusalem" sculpture at Tzahal Square (opposite the old city walls, Dan hotel and Mamilla, and city hall). The tour finishes at 14:00 by the Davidka memorial.

The three weeks of mourning over the Jewish temple are coming to an end, and we have been preparing for Tisha B'Av while exploring Jerusalem.

In this final tour, we will be going up to Har HaBayit to explore what our holy site looks like today, what it was like 2000 years ago, and what remains from 2000 years ago. Please join me on Thursday morning at 8:00; we will be meeting at the Dung Gate (Sha'ar Ashpot). Modest attire required.

For those of you who are interested in the tour, but are not ready to ascend to this holy site (or cannot go at this time), please join me for a "virtual tour" of the holy site as it was 2000 years ago on the eve of the destruction, at 10:15 on Thursday morning, at the Jaffa Gate. This tour will be indoors, so masks are required.

We've begun three weeks of mourning which generally focuses on the destruction of the first and second temples. Chazal tell us that the second temple was destroyed by "baseless hatred". History tells us that the infighting between the various Jewish groups was the cause of losing the revolt against Rome in 70 CE.
The threat presented by other, non-Jewish, lifestyles, began before the destruction of the second temple, and continues today.
I'd like to invite you to a tour of Musrara & HaNeviim Streets on Monday, July 5th, where we will explore the battle to become a united nation again as well as the threats to the Jewish religion in the 19th and 20th centuries. Please join me.
