In recognition of the hunger crisis, the United Nations created World Food Day, held annually on October 16th, to encourage others to join in the fight to end world hunger.

All of our Sanibel Captiva Vacation Rental Managers Association members invite their guests to donate any unopened food at check-out for donation to both FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, Inc. and Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Inc. Collectively we have donated over 10,000 pounds of food!

Are you on-island now but don't have any left-over food to donate? Both organizations take monetary donations. Feel free to visit any SCVRMA member's office to drop-off.

Are you a local and have leftover hurricane rations? We will take those as well!! Every little bit helps!

PS: Wildlife hospitals are happy to take opened, perishable fruits and veggies too!

Awesome news courtesy of another SCVRMA partner, Select Vacation Properties!

So thankful - Sanibel is finally red-tide free!! The most recent water samples showed zero traces of red tide. This was my view on the way to work this morning, and I saw Pelicans, dolphins and seabirds :)
