When the town festival for the arrival of the Virgin of Guadalupe was celebrated, it was held in the center of town. On the right side of the church of San Francisco de Asís the stands were built for the bullfight, since there was an open field but frequently a bull escaped and became a risk for the population. Years later the fair was relocated to "San Pool" and that place became a park.
Before there were not so many parks or green areas that the inhabitants now use. Similarly, there was no shopping center or cybercafés to connect to the Internet.

Throughout time, Hunucmá has grown from being a rural town to a city.
From using trains, carts or bicycles, people from here now travel by bike, motorbike or car.
There were not as many shops around the park as there are today. To the right of the San Francisco de Asís park there was a fast soccer field and a typical food stall called “San Vicente”. There is currently a parquet.

Sisal magical town
In its time it was a commercial port in colonial times but today it is distinguished by being a magical town. It has beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal clear sea, mangroves and its delicious restaurants.

The city of Hunucmá has several places to visit and here we will name some of them:
1.-The church of “San Francisco de Asís” is located on 28th street in front of the main park.
2.-The Eulogio Rosado market is on 29th street next to the "La lupita" store.
3.-The municipal palace is located on 31st street next to the municipal park
4.-The restaurant "El Maya" is located on 30th street in front of the "Preparatoria Hunucmá"
5.-The municipal market of "Nuestra señora de Guadalupe" is located on 21st street.
6.-The cenote "El posito" is located on 38th street of the "Santa Rosa" neighborhood.
7.-The port of Sisal is located 24km from the city of Hunucmá.

The city of Hunucmá is located 40 minutes from the city of Mérida. The place is quiet where you can walk and observe the different monuments of the place, it has several green areas and parks. The people of the place are transported by motorcycle taxis and the price of this transport is $ 10.00, there is availability almost always. Another transport that is used to travel to Mérida is the Hunucmá station, it is always busy and transport takes time. The eastern bus is always full, the price of these two transports is $ 20 per person and the trip takes approximately 50 min

One of the most famous places in Hunucmá is the restaurant "El maya" where regional style food is sold such as panuchos, salbutes, empanadas and the most popular "Sopes de queso de bola". People like our Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal and the people who make videos for YouTube come to try this delicious dish. It is a 100% recommended place for the whole family and best of all, it is cheap.

Continuing with the tour through the streets of Hunucmá a few blocks later we will find a smaller park called "San Francisco" or the "Azul" park because of its floor of the same color, a few meters away there is municipal market "Nuestra señora de Guadalupe" and at the entrance of the market there is a mill and tortilleria "La placita" founded in 1922.

In Hunucmá we can find the main church of "San Francisco de Asis", in front of it there is the main park with beautiful confidants and the kiosk. On the right there is the old market "Eulogio Rosado" with its unique architecture and its two-color floors. On the left side there is the municipal palace of Hunucmá.
