The number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Roxas City has gone down by 2 percent, as it average 18 new cases during the July 5-18 period from 20 cases per day on June 21-July 4. The decrease is very significant, it’s actually 44 percent lower compared to the peak of the surge last June 12 which recorded an average of 32 cases per day.
This corresponds to an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 10.22 cases per 100,000 population and growth rate of -12.41%, classifying Roxas City as a “high-low” risk area for COVID-19 infections under General Community Quarantine status with heightened restrictions.
Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center (RCDLC) positivity rate is 32 percent over the past week, but healthcare utilization rates are considered within “moderate levels.”
Roxas City’s overall hospital bed occupancy is at 67.5 percent, ICU bed occupancy at 50 percent, and mechanical ventilator utilization at 66.67 percent.
Brgy Tiza still remained to be the barangay with highest number of new cases reported within the last 14 days with 34 cases and an average of 2.4 cases per day followed by Lanot - 23, Tanque - 17, Banica - 17 and Cagay - 15.
Brgy Punta Tabuc, Brgy III, Brgy II, Brgy XI, Brgy VI, Jumaguicjic, Adlawan and Tiza are among of the Roxas City barangays with ADAR ranging from 30 to 60 which are classified as "High Risk".
At present, Roxas City had 179 active cases in which 69 percent had an on going home quarantine and 83 percent of them are symptomatics.
