Walking with goats… a lovely - and different - way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Three Lochs Forest Drive in the company of Achray Farm goats. We were thrilled to be first to try this out, learning about the goats, their likes and dislikes, and chatting to Nicola and Angie about looking after them. These cheeky characters (the 4-legged ones 😉) were entertaining company and topping off the walk with a goats’ milk ice cream or fruit sorbet back at the farm was the perfect ending to the experience.

Another exciting development! I’m very much looking forward to taking the new bus to Trossachs Pier to check out the new tower and enjoy the view. 😊

Later this month, you can experience this incredible view, credited as the 'Birthplace of Scottish Tourism'. We are building a scenic tower with linking viewpoints to allow you to enjoy the historic view that inspired Sir Walter Scott to write 'The Lady of the Lake'. Once published in 1810, people flocked to Loch Katrine to see the landscapes described so vividly by Scott. We will let you know as soon as the path and tower are open to the public.

A new bus service started today making it possible to visit Ben A’an, Trossachs Pier, Ben Venue, Callander or Aberfoyle from Brig o’ Turk all without taking a car. We’re looking forward to trying it out!

All aboard...the Trossachs Explorer!

Our staff, local businesses, Board and Youth Committee members gathered at Loch Katrine today to celebrate a new pilot shuttlebus service.

Running 7 days a week from 1st July until 30th September, this service will provide a car free alternative for visitors and residents to explore the Trossachs, and under 22's and over 60's will travel free with a National Entitlement Card!

Tearoom winter hours (already? Brrr!). I can recommend those festive afternoon teas - delicious. 😋

Today was our last Monday in the tearoom for this season as we now move to our winter hours. These will be Friday to Sunday 10 - 4 until the end of November. The Fridays we are open in December (1st and 8th) will be for Festive Afternoon Teas only, which will need to be prebooked. Details on how to book an afternoon tea will be given once I've figured out the square app! 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th December will be 10 -4 like the previous Saturdays and Sundays.

Good Morning from a currently dry Trossachs! We have a few changes to our opening hours for the next two weekends, to allow us a little trip away to rest up a bit so that we can get through the last few months of the season 😀 Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Therefore we will be closed Monday 28th August and opening later (11:30) on Friday 1st September. Then its back to the usual opening times from the 2nd September.

The quiz has been moved from its usual first Friday of the month slot to Friday 15th September.

Steamship Sir Walter Scott is accessible for wheelchairs, which has delighted many of Loch Katrine's visitors since her return after restoration. If you need any assistance or have any questions during your visit, please ask any of the Loch Katrine team; they'll be happy to help you.

Walkers on the trails at the Forest Lodge Visitor Centre near Aberfoyle might be surprised to encounter some silent figures lurking among the trees. In fact, they are easy to miss but, once seen, are fascinating. They are the work of Scots sculptor Rob Mulholland and aim to encourage us to think about our relationship with both the natural and the man-made environment....
