Pyhävaara Wilderness area is a lovely place-and not far from Ruka Ski Resort.A day`s snowshoeing in the photos.A wilderness area has an advantage over a National Park as not so many people know about it-so you can often have the whole place to yourself!

The Big Bear Trail (Iso Karhun Kierros) a few days ago.Great few days hiking on the world famous walk.It is 82km in total and takes 4-5 days normally.

I helped out with the town of Dunbar`s (Scotland) Christmas lights appeal.They were doing a virtual cycle from Scotland to Lapland! I did 8km at the end.They did 3,701km!!! Great effort from Scotland there!

Really good photos of one of the residents of Vuotunki :) At maximum length this Great Grey or Lapland Owl has a wingspan of 175 cm.It is also called the "Phantom of the North".

Tried out the new GV Canadian snowshoes today.Thet are excellent in deep snow! Walked along the old trench fortification sytem near Kuusamo from World War 2.1.9 metres deep.I almost fell in!

Evening Snowshoeing.10km around Valtavaara.Tried out the new French TSL Snowshoes.They worked really well. Iltavaelluksella Valtavaaran ympäri. Testissä Ranskalaiset TSL lumikengät. Toimivat todella hyvin!
