The Youghiogheny River, often called the "Yough," is rare among Pennsylvania's rivers because it flows northward, an unusual trait in PA. Originating in West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, the river winds through Maryland and southwestern Pennsylvania before joining the Monongahela River (which also flows north) near McKeesport. The Youghiogheny has long been a vital waterway, serving as a transportation route for Native Americans and early European settlers. During the 18th and 19th centuries, it played a key role in the region's logging and coal industries. Today, the river is celebrated for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities, particularly in areas like Ohiopyle State Park.

Pam doesn’t want her friends to be cold so she whipped up some chili to get them through this weekend! Come in for a bowl and a cornbread muffin! $8 this weekend only.

We also have a Buffalo Chicken Dip in addition to our Spinach and Artichoke dip this weekend.

🚨 HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Greetings from the Ohiopyle House Cafe! Things are busy here and we have a few big, exciting changes happening this year!

We are now under new ownership and Rob and John want to
personally welcome you to Ohiopyle, USA Today’s number one small town in the Northeast!

The pair purchased the Café from the McCarty family this spring and hope to
continue the legacy Mark, Linda, Stacey, and their family started.

📢 A little about the new owners:

Rob and John met in the early 80’s at West Virginia University. While working as river guides, both supplemented their raft guide incomes by working as bartenders, servers, and management at various Morgantown establishments. They are looking forward to combining their experience in the service industry with their continued love of Ohiopyle and all it has to offer. Rob and John will be sharing general manager duties while John’s wife, Sandy, will serve as our music coordinator and will be overseeing the front-of-house staff. Expect to see at least one, if not all three faces around the Café to ensure you a pleasant experience!

🔸 We will continue to be a family-friendly (including well-behaved and leashed 4-legged family members at our outside tables), customer service-based restaurant focusing on quality food!
🔸 Sit-down service will be offered on the porches while the Wing Shack will continue to offer quick food, served to go! Grab some wings and appetizers to eat on one of our picnic tables or take with you as you explore the park.
🔸 We are ready to offer bar food from the Wing Shack and drinks in the downstairs bar.
🔸 This weekend, we added salads for a healthier meal option.

We are beyond thrilled to continue serving you and hope to see you soon!
