New blog post: I’m just a girl, standing on a plane, waiting to grow her wings 🤍✨

On the anniversary of my first ever wings ceremony, I thought it would be a good idea to reminisce over my first ever flight ❤️✈️ I count myself as lucky that I can actually say that I lived my dream, so here’s what it was actually like getting to live it ✈️

Link in bio and below https://www.passportandpants.com/post/i-m-just-a-girl-standing-on-a-plane-waiting-to-grow-her-wings

This past month marked a poignant date for me. The 18th March is not only the date that I gained my wings at my most recent airline, but it's also coincidentally the date that I began my role as cabin crew at my very first airline. As I publish this today on the 11th April, it's also the anniversary...

NEW POST: Un-Furloughing my Passport ✈️✨
It’s normally around this time of year that fed up of the UK weather, I start to frantically search travel websites in the bid to bag my next break. Admittedly this year things are very different. Whilst we can’t freely travel yet, we can still find inspiration.
Please note that in writing this, I am in no means advocating breaching the current restrictions, more that I aim to provide inspiration, hope, and assurance for when the time comes that the world is ready, and most importantly YOU are ready to travel again, you’ll find it safe to do so and you’ll be welcomed with open arms. You’ll also find a little cameo from and his and why whilst it’s fun, it’s a poignant and important message.
I know finding a holiday might seem like the furthest thing away from necessary right now, but as an avid traveller missing all that the world has to offer, knowing there’s many people out there like me, I thought I’d provide a little bit of light in the dark ✨✈️🤞🏼(link below and also in bio!)

My passport, (like that of many across the world this year) alongside my jeans (because let's face it, who's actually wearing jeans when leggings are THE clothing choice of lockdown), has spent a fair chunk of time gathering dust in the bottom of my drawer. So when the time came that I could FINALLY...

When everything seems to be going against you.....remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it- Henry Ford.
In the spirit of the upcoming World Mental Health Day, here’s my 6 months in check-in with you all.
Remember and hold on to those good days. Those 'I can't believe that this is my life' days. Those days where you thank your lucky stars that you took a chance and dived head first into your dream. Those 'every single moment was worth it' days.
Better days are ahead. Remember, sunset-watching, throttle - pushing, dream- making, rum sippin' days are still ahead of us. This is temporary... Remember: 'This too shall pass'

Just returned from the most gorgeous break away in Sicily 🇮🇹 it was truly needed, and I can safely say my passport is well and truly un-furloughed. My blog on the Top 10 things to do in Sicily will be posted soon! ✨

It’s been a while since I’ve written, but this week’s blog relates to mental health and well-being, in particular amongst aviation professionals. So grab a brew (or a gin) and settle in
‘This isn't so much a blog on how to survive this situation, or to tell you what the right path is for you. I do hope that it opens up the conversation regarding how we are feeling, and helps to normalize conversations within our industry regarding mental health and well -being. Remember however you are feeling, you're not alone, and even in your darkest hours, you will always have someone to turn to. After all, we are all connected, because for some of us out there, we are born with the skies within our souls. x

Nothing like the early morning sunrise to brighten tired eyes ❤️✈️
Thankyou all so much for the love on my recent blog. I hope it provided a little snapshot of the feeling felt by many in aviation right now, and to all those who’ve reached out to me expressing feelings of similarity to what I wrote... stay strong, rest those wings, and prepare to take flight once more when the world is ready ✈️ check it out at https://www.passportandpants.com/post/united-by-wings

United by wings ✈️❤️ it’s taken me a while to write this next blog, but here it is and I hope to all my friends in aviation, it helps you to know that you are not alone ❤️ full link in bio ❤️
I'm here to say never forget your worth. I've had so many conversations with friends recently where they doubt their worth and value not only in their original airline, but in the job market they now have to negotiate. Remember you have managed to achieve the almost impossible and become part of this sky family. Whether you're a pilot who's dedicated their entire life to accumulating hours at the front of the aircraft, or cabin crew who has spent years applying for your job at the dream airline, you did it. You have proven you're resilient; you can work at any time of the day and night, whilst looking immaculate, and still sort out any number of seating issues, meal requests, complaints, and even fly through a pandemic. You have proven you're intelligent; passing around 40 exams just to even step on an aircraft as crew and have managed to resit and pass all of them year in year out to retain your place. You have proven you are respectful and well-cultured; flying people of all nationalities, religions, and faiths around the world, adapting your service to ensure that every single person regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality is respected and treated equally. You have proven you can be a firefighter, nurse, counselor, comedian, children's entertainer, fine-dining host, security officer, a team player, a leader.... the list is endless of what you can do so never, ever feel worthless. You are crew because of who you are, not who you are because you are crew (continued at https://www.passportandpants.com/post/united-by-wings) .

This week’s blog, relates to the work I’ve been doing whilst the whole world is on pause for . My experience working with this amazing charity, has been nothing short of incredible. I’ve met the most inspiring people, not only through the NHS staff but also fellow aviation professionals whose strength and resilience amazes me every day, and I’m now lucky enough to call my friends.
‘Project Wingman, now a registered charity, was set up to give the NHS workers, a 'first-class' lounge experience, in return for all of their hard work ensuring that patients are receiving first-class treatment. Airline workers from 16 airlines, including Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Easyjet, Jet2, Norwegian, and Loganair (among many more!) are coming together to prove we truly are 'united by wings', by using our skills to help and improve the wellbeing of staff within the NHS, during this difficult time’
If you’d like to read the full blog for more details on my experience here it can be found at
https://www.passportandpants.com/post/your-forever-wing-girl-joins-project-wingman
It’s a privilege to be a part of this team, and huge thanks go to Project Wingman for letting me share this with the world!

This week’s post will relate to what I’ve been up to whilst we CAN’T travel!
involves grounded/ furloughed cabin crew/ pilots/ aviation workers coming together to provide the NHS staff with a ‘first class lounge’ experience, to say thanks for all their hard work, and provide them with much-deserved respite during their shifts!
All crew are trained in human factors, meaning we understand that communication is key when it comes to a happy workforce, and we fellow uniformed professionals understand how to work successfully under pressure. During this time, staff can come in to relax, chat with the crew, have tea and coffee (and other snacks kindly donated by the communities). With 16 airlines coming together to work during this time in the lounges, we are showing that we are truly and our passion for people
I’ll post the blog when available, but I can’t wait for you to read it!

The pink lakes 💕 .
No I haven’t lost my marbles. It’s tradition to cover yourself head to foot in the clay from the banks of the river, let it bake, and then when dry, soak in the warm water of the lake and let it lift off the surface of your skin. It’s supposed to be cleansing for the skin and good for the soul. Apart from that, it’s a PINK LAKE!!?! Surely that alone is worth a visit? .

“Planes, trains and automobiles: ... and Tuk Tuk's and bamboo trains, and longboats, and pretty much any other form of transport you can think of. That's what this leg of the journey is going to be about! Cambodia is a vast country; to see it you're going to have to get used to long stints on various forms of public transport” .
Cambodia Part 2 is out! I hope you enjoy it, and feel transported away to what was probably my favourite part of the time in this incredible country.

What’s the last ‘pre lockdown’ photo that you have on your phone? This photo was taken a mere 2.5 hours before lockdown was announced, and our lives were turned upside down. Before the tik tok challenges, run 5k sponsorships, and R number was even mentioned. .
I was heading off to Johannesburg, and by the time I got back lockdown was in full swing. It was definitely a culture shock returning, and one I don’t even think now I can fully say I’m used to! .
8 weeks on (and although I didn’t need telling to live life to the full back then) I can safely say I will never take the littlest of things for granted again. Travel, being the last to leave a night out, even just going for a coffee with all my friends ❤️
What was your ‘last normal photo’?

‘What to do when you’re a traveler and the world hits pause’
“So! You've baked enough banana bread to feed Africa, you've become the next Mo Farah in taking to one 5k run every day (because your entire friends list has nominated you for THAT challenge for some reason), and you're a TikTok superstar... (T-Shirt challenge anyone?). Then comes the more obscure, the random down a pint challenge that seemingly didn't benefit anyone, the Zoom house parties, and virtual pub crawls. You're sat wondering what the difference between 'stay home' and 'stay alert' actually is, and are counting down the days until the pubs are re-opened.

Except for those travelers among us. There's one burning question that dominates every day. 'When am I going to be able to travel again?' “
Tonight’s blog relates to our current COVID-19 lockdown situation, how do you get through it when you have no idea how to be in one place?

Furlough. Unprecedented. Coronavirus. COVID-19. Words right there that I hope at some point in the near distant future become a simple memory. For many of us, our entire lives are on pause; no more so than those of us with a desire to travel. Whether that be for work, or pleasure (or both if you're....

Catching that golden hour in Siem Reap ☀️
I’m currently writing the blog for my next leg of my travels around Cambodia. Looking back, I have to say, I think this part is my favourite 🌏❤️with tales of planes, trains, automobiles, tuk tuks, bikes, boats, bamboo railway, and pretty much any other mode of transport you can think of, thrown in with bats, templing, pub street (yes there’s a whole street named after pubs 🤣) and cocktails, It most certainly was one to remember!

... ‘On landing into Phnom Penh, the only thing I can say is that it was a COMPLETE culture shock, and I had no idea what I had let myself in for. Only that reading books, articles, lonely planet guides, nothing could prepare you for it.
Driving along, I couldn't believe it, it genuinely was like the wild west, with drivers deciding if their side of the road was too busy, to skip the queue and just drive down the side of the road with oncoming traffic. I genuinely had no idea what to expect prior to arriving here, but this was a huge shock to the system!
However, as a heads up, by the end of my time in this amazing place, it felt truly like a second home, so if you do arrive and feel a little bit like me, hang on in there! You're about to have the adventure of your life ❤️✈️🌍

A bit about the author 🌍❤️
I'm international cabin crew, currently based in London, England working for the 'most loved' airline out there. I'm addicted to travel, and in a full time relationship with my passport.
I decided to finally make a vision of mine reality, whilst grounded due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Having my wings essentially 'clipped' due to lockdown restrictions, I felt it was a good time to create something for wanderlusters like me, to read and be (maybe even) inspired by for their post lockdown travels.
There's two things in life that keep my heart beating, one being travel, and the other being people. I'm so lucky that my job (if you can call it that!) allows me to connect my two passions together, and that's what I aim to find with this site. A chance to share travel stories, and connect with people across the world.
I hope you enjoy reading some of the posts on here, and finding out a bit more about the incredible world that we live in. Thanks for taking the time to connect, and I'd love to hear from you with any questions or recommendations you may have.

What to do when you’re in a permanent relationship with your passport, and the whole world stops moving? .
Start that blog you’ve been banging on about for about 5 years! .
So here it is! is the official title of my journey across this globe. Expect stories of my time travelling, blogs about life as cabin crew, and chances to get interactive with question and answer sessions/opportunities to submit your own experiences of travelling. .
Why now? Well this is something I’ve been fairly nervous about doing to be honest, but after some pep talks from my nearest and dearest, it’s definitely time. I always say the two things that keep my heart beating are travel and people, so whilst we can’t travel, I aim to connect people across the world through the love of travel. .
I hope you like it! If it sounds like something up your street, or you’re just nosey about what we get up to as crew then click on the blog link below and hit subscribe. .
