Rockhound Hideaway is nestled in the Ottawa National Forest along the Black River near the shores of Lake Superior. Rockhound Hideaway is the perfect escape for outdoor enthusiasts during any season. We offer three different lodging options to meet all comfort levels. Each unit has its own private outdoor area, bonfire ring, charcoal grill and hammock. Our dog loves it here and we know yours will

too, which is why all lodging units are pet friendly. If you are interested in booking multiple units or the entire property, we are happy to accommodate whenever possible and offer discounts for entire property rentals,

Spotlight on the Agate Grove Bell Tent 🏕️

The love notes in our guest books mean the world to us, and the tent is now so cozy with the wood stove now installed for winter stays. 🔥

Yes, we'll be renting the tent out this winter for the hearty, adventurous souls! A perfect place to stay for snowshoeing and skiing enthusiasts. ⛄🏂🎿❄️

It's been awhile since I've been active, but dang, it has been busy up here!

A little about me for those who don't know:

💚Rockhound Hideaway is my second full-time job alongside managing our local co-op, Northwind Natural Foods Co-op
🔨 I do most of the construction on my property myself. (Stay tuned for my next post with some exciting property updates!)
🍁 My partner and I make maple syrup and foraged jams that we sell on property.
🐿️ I'm on the board of our local North Country Trail chapter, Ni-Miikanaake Chapter: North Country Trail
🏳️‍🌈I'm on the Pride planning committee and Downtown development board.
💗 I care deeply about being a part of building the type of community I want to live in.
🐕‍🦺 I love all animals and my entire property is pet friendly.
🌿 I am a ma*****na friendly property for those legal to partake.

So I may not have been posting lately, but it's busier than ever at Rockhound Hideaway, summer is here in full force and I can't wait to share some property updates and upgrades with you all in the not so distant future! ✨💫

I create these cozy spaces not just for guests to enjoy, but also for myself, my partner and my best pal Ginger. Our love and passion for all things outdoors and all things animals is what inspired me to make such memorable stays.

It fills my heart with joy to see notes from guests making such bold statements- "cutest tent in the U.P.!".

Our staycation last night involved bonfires, brats, shooting stars and faint northern lights. If you live in the area, we offer locals discounts for a vacation without the long distance travel. 🛖🐾💗🔥✨
