The crown, crafted from shimmering silver metal and adorned with precious stones, is not just a regal ornament; it embodies the spirit of tourism and peace. Its intricate design features numbers of tiny, sparkling stones that catch the light, creating a mesmerizing display that draws people from around the world.

In a world often marked by division, this crown stands as a testament to the power of art in fostering peace. By celebrating shared heritage and inspiring dialogue in a diverse cultures in MSU community, it serves as a reminder that beauty can bridge gaps and promote understanding.

The crown is more than just a decorative piece; it is a powerful symbol of tourism and peace, inviting all who encounter it to embrace unity and celebrate the diversity that enriches our world.

The University’s Foundation Ceremony includes a lively celebration called the Dance Extravaganza, which highlights the rich cultural diversity and varied talents of each college within the university. This yearly event promotes cooperation and friendship among many disciplines in addition to showcasing the artistic talents of the students.

As the ceremony unfolds, the stage comes alive with an array of performances, each reflecting the unique identity and spirit of the participating colleges. From traditional folk dances that pay homage to cultural heritage to line dances that encourage group participation and synchronization, the performances captivate audiences and evoke a sense of pride in the university community. Additionally, contemporary dance routines push creative boundaries, blending various styles and emotions, while street dancers bring an energetic and urban flair that resonates with the youth culture. Together, these diverse dance forms create a rich tapestry of movement and expression.

With this, I congratulate the College for attaining another cup as the 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 took the place 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 in the said category.

On September 27, 2024, the Dimaporo Gymnasium at Mindanao State University – Main Campus transformed into a vibrant stage for the annual musical extravaganza. The event was a dazzling display of musical artistry, with performances spanning diverse genres from different colleges. From the soulful voices and harmonies of each vocalist to the electrifying energy of group impersonation, the stage was alive with passion and creativity.

One of the highlights of the event was undoubtedly the Vocal Solo Category, where MSUans from various colleges showcased their vocal prowess. The competition was fierce, with each contestant delivering powerful and emotive performances. However, it was the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) that emerged victorious, capturing the hearts of the judges and the audience alike. The CHTM representative, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐈𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐓. 𝐖𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐬, delivered a breathtaking performance that showcased his exceptional vocal quality and stage presence. Although the other CHTM contenders did not make it, we CHARMERS are still so proud of you for raising the orange flag into the spotlight.

Nonetheless, it was a win for CHTM as the event was a testament and reminder that there will always be a chance for redemption as the PEACOCKS will again take flight to reach new heights for the next University Musical Extravaganza. Therefore, CONGRATULATIONS and let’s comeback stronger and fiercer!

The CHTM Tourism Management Department held its general assembly on September 07, 2024, at the CHTM Pavilion. This important meeting provided a platform for departmental updates, financial transparency, and unveiling of exciting plans for the upcoming World Tourism Day (WTD).

The event was packed with key presentations starting from the department’s chairperson, Prof. Sean Wilfred B. Cayunda. He delivered a comprehensive report outlining the department’s significant milestones, ambitious goals, and noteworthy achievements. This presentation provided valuable insights into the department’s progress and future direction. Another report was provided by Les’ Turista Society Treasurer, Ms. Hamimah Nasrodin, she presented a detailed financial report which clarified the department’s fund liquidation. This transparent overview ensured that all students were informed about the department’s financial health and responsible management of funds. Now, the highlight of the meeting was unveiling of groups and plans for the upcoming World Tourism Day (WTD) through this, each group will be able to plan and learn their roles for their success.

In the end, the general assembly was a resounding success, fostering a shared purpose among the Tourism Management Department students. The event left the attendees excited for the upcoming event, confident in the department direction and commitment to its goals. Indeed, open communication and collaboration is the key for maintaining trust and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and unity within the department.

During this collaborative session, we outlined key objectives, assigned roles, and established timelines to streamline our planning process. The synergy among officers was palpable as we shared insights on enhancing student participation and fostering a sense of community.
