Meet the Team of Psychedelic Self Love’s June Journey

This month marks the 1 year milestone of our community psychedelic programming and we’d like to shine a light on our incredible team who is supporting this week’s journey.

Psychedelic Self Love is an opportunity for our community to heal and expand through the exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness and includes active breathwork, a somatic scream release, mushroom microdose .15-.3g (optional gift) and integration guidance.

As part of our commitment to providing the most supportive experience possible, every community journey includes an on site Licensed Counselor or Therapist and/ or a Doctorate Level Medical Professional who is also certified in Psychedelic Breathwork.

Apart from our LPCC’s and PHD’s, we implement a minimum 5:1 certified Facilitator to Attendee Ratio.

Interestingly enough, almost every member of our team began their journey into the program as an attendee of Psychedelic Self Love, having no idea at the time that the experience would inspire new expansive pathways into community.

From there they felt a strong call to develop their own gifts for helping others and began their four month immersive training program with Candice- a true testimony of the transformative nature of community psychedelic programing and the opportunities that present themselves when we make the choice to unlock our greatest potential.

It’s 420 and the feminist vibes are lit 🍃🌼

I admittedly once believed 420 to be a trash holiday for lazy, lame, mostly male, stoners.

Since stepping into the journey of healing naturally with plants, I now know that MJ is a supportive plant ally for lifting up women in a multitude of ways.

It is wild that the plants have showed up to support us in this way- closing the wage gap, provided economic opportunity and providing a natural alternative to mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

It’s not the universe, Boo. It’s you. ✨.

I often hear hard-working, talented women say things like, ‘the universe pulled through and made X,Y,Z happen’ when they accomplish something that they’re happy about or proud of…

We’re made to believe that when something great happens or when good news comes our way that it’s ‘alignment’, or the universe giving us some sort of reward for being ‘good’.

We ignore all the steps we took to accomplish it- the talent and power that lives inside us that made it happen and the activation of creating through hours of WORK and moving through roadblocks and bulls*t like a resilient baddie.

All of it gets ignored and the universe instead gets the credit.

We unconsciously give our power away to an outside force because we’re told to remain soft, flowy and feminine.

We say phrases like ‘I’m calling it in’, like success is outside of us (??)

We’re taught to disempower ourselves and we do it without even noticing it.

When we accomplish, we move right onto the next thing instead of taking time to celebrate-

Then, when we’re asked what we’re most proud of - we can’t even think of an answer because we’ve just been going and going without recognizing that, right in front of us, there are gardens full of roses that we planted to stop and smell.

Somewhere along the way, self celebration got confused with big headedness and ‘bragging’. It became ‘uncool’ to self advocate and ‘uncouth’ to flex.

Marianne of and I are looking forward to rewriting the narrative of self celebration for women business owners. We are ready to normalize outward displays of greatness and women owning their power.

A celebratory experience for femmentrepreneurs to unapologetically flex their bad bitchery… coming soon! ✨

Conventional milestones for women include an engagement proposal, their wedding day and having a baby. It’s socially acceptable, and expected for women to celebrate themselves on these occasions.

However, when starting or operating a business as a woman, the idea of celebrating your accomplishments and success is looked upon as uncouth or tacky.

As a woman who owns her own business, I’ve found it uncomfortable and sometimes awkward to talk about my business with friends and family members who aren’t business owners themselves… they don’t get it, and that’s ok.

The conversation is usually either glossed over, or I often get the, ‘that’s so great that you’re pursuing a passion project’- like I’m doing this s**t as a hobby.

Or, it involves unsolicited advice on how I ‘should’ be operating my business (usually from men) that leaves me feeling like I’m not doing enough or thinking that maybe I’m not cut out for this.

1. Mercado de Pisa- plan your trip around going on Sunday only - this is the day of the week when the the indigenous women weavers show up to market to sell their traditional alpaca weavings

2. .durand - Renee is a Quechuan artist who creates on Aya in the jungle - he sells his paintings out of his home in Cusco- shoot him a message in Spanish to let him know you’re coming.

3. - incredible indigenous ceramics studio in Urubamba - plan to head to this region after Machu Picchu- stay at and visit the Salt Flats.

4. - an orphanage owned by outside of Cusco- definitely schedule extra time into your trip to pay it forward by volunteering at Azul Wasi or at the very least drop off some groceries or electronics (bc that’s what they need) and meet los ninos!!

Screamwerk™️ is a form of breathwork that involves a session of active breathing followed by a primal scream release.

Active breathwork allows us to quiet the mind by breathing large amounts of oxygen into our body. When the conscious ego is muted, we have the ability to tap into our subconscious body, where past memories and experiences may be stored.

The intention of this breathwork technique is to bring up silenced memories that live in our subconscious and may be driving our thought or behavior patterns.

By digging deep into these stored experiences and bringing them to the surface, we are able to clear away their ability to subconsciously take the wheel.

The primal urge to scream has the capacity to take us back to a childhood state where we may be holding onto repressed trauma or unhealthy patterns.

Candice is also offering the option to add a micro mushroom offering to the experience for anyone who is interested in exploring the psychedelic side of the psyche.
