Colors are really starting to pop today, last hostel night of the trip on Hiawassee tonight.

Started in the rain and ending in the rain. The day to GA started with sun and finished with hail, rain, fog & wind. Wouldn't make sense to have it any other way, only 75 miles to go.
At least there was a big rock to eat my snack under.

29° at camp this morning but at least there is sun, last school week on trail.

Started out raining and cold again at Wayah Bald (5,337 ft.) but off the mountain a bit nicer at the road crossing.

Well it turned into a beautiful hike up to Wesser Bald out of the wet and cold morning. Still great sights to see this last week!

My last Saturday on trail started dark and rainy, looks like some rough weather on the way to GA.

Finish up the Smokey Mountains and into Fontana for our last zero day of the trip, 165 miles left to go.
Fun fact, the Fontana dam is where they filmed The Fugitive when Dr. Kimble jumped off the dam.

Clingmans Dome, the highest point on the AT (6,612 ft.) and the 200 mile remaining mark this morning.
Passed 2,000 total miles for the hike just after along the ridge. Great views this morning!!

One last foggy and rainy day before getting into Damascus to meet back up with my hiking buddies and a day off.
Buzzard Rock was supposed to be a good spot for a sunrise, glad I didn't get up too early for it.

Good morning from Grayson Highlands, camped here last night at over 4,600 ft. One of the coldest and most windy nights I've had on trail, can't wait for my cold weather gear in Damascus.

Passed by Comer Creek Falls today heading up to the Grayson Highlands and Mt. Rodgers tomorrow. 1st time above 5,000 ft. in a while.

Foggy and rainy this morning from Angel's Rest Rock. I really love these rhododendron forests up here.

Pleasant River crossing impassable after 2 straight days of rain. Heading back to the hostel to wait it out.
