Turning a mountain into a mole hill.
Artie, our tractor and I continue to dig away the ramp once used to bury our house. It’s a slow but satisfying process. I’ve now reached a level taller than Artie. The Fir tree you see in the second picture will become this years Christmas tree.

It’s been over 10 years since we “buried” our house and we are finally starting to dig out the ramp used to get the earth up on the roof. Artie, (our tractor) and I are going to be busy for quite some time.

One of the benefits of living next door to the Oregon Oyster Farm, aside from their delicious oysters, is an ample supply of oyster shells which happens to make for great retaining wall backfill.

A chilly and icy 31 degrees outside. Meanwhile in our earth sheltered home, it’s a comfortable 64 degrees. We did have a fire in our wood stove last night but haven’t needed to start it up yet.
