Whether youโve been around for a while or are new here, I tend to share about each destination in chronological order.โฃ
โฃ
I try to fight it but itโs just how my brain works so before I get started on our most recent trip, I want to share a bit about why my husband & I chose to travel to Australia and New Zealand. โฃ
โฃ
As our kids were entering high school, it was clear the phase of being empty nesters was fast approaching. โฃ
โฃ
Travel has always been and would continue to be a priority but as empty nesters the world opened up a bit more because we are tied less to strict school schedules. โฃ
โฃ
And letโs be honest for big destinations, two tickets are cheaper than 4! ๐โฃ
โฃ
From day 1 of dreaming of future destinations, Australia and New Zealand were always top of the list. โฃ
Partly because the only tennis grand slam we had not attended to date was the Australian Open, which since itโs held in January, aligned perfectly with travel plans.โฃ
โฃ
Add to that, Australia and New Zealand seemed to have it all. โฃ
โฃ
๐ฆ๐บ Stunning natural beautyโฃ
๐ณ๐ฟ Outdoor adventureโฃ
๐ฆ๐บ Opportunities to practice nature photography (for me)โฃ
๐ณ๐ฟ Epic golf courses (for my husband)โฃ
๐ฆ๐บ Home to my favorite wine โฃ
๐ณ๐ฟPlaces that a bit off the beaten pathโฃ
๐ฆ๐บ Easy to navigate. โฃ
๐ณ๐ฟ Friendly locals and English speaking countries
โฃ
This was our longest trip to dateโฆfour weeks and as you may imagine, it was even more than this listโฆso stay tuned to find what all we discovered and learned along the way! โฃ
โฃ
Any guesses on how many times we said, โI wish the kids were here with us?โ โฃ
