If you would like to help, NBC News has posted this information for national orgaizations that are accepting donations to aid the hurricane victims.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝟯𝟬𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱? The sands of 30A consists of pure, small quartz particles which came from a process starting in the Appalachian Mountains. Over thousands of years, as the Appalachian Mountains weathered, quartz and other particles were washed down through the Apalachicola River, ending in the Gulf.

The sand is almost 100% quartz, which is highly unusual on other Florida beaches, and the extra-white color comes from the natural ‘bleaching’ from the water and the sun.

Have you ever tried to find out why Friday the 13th is supposed to be so unlucky? There's no easy answer. In fact in other countries, it's not a thing. In Spain, for example, the day to fear is Tuesday the 13th (not sure why...). And in Italy, the 17th day of any month is considered unlucky because, and this seems a bit of a stretch, the Roman numeral XVII can be rearranged to spell “VIXI,” meaning “my life is over” in Latin. Hm. I guess.

Anyway, happy Friday the 13th! Especially to YOU, Jason Voorhees!
