When you vote FOR Local Proposition No. 1 in early voting or on November 3rd, you’re really voting FOR a bigger and better park for the City of Longview with more state-of-the-art recreational and athletic facilities and amenities. You’re also voting FOR economic growth and new jobs for Longview with the creation of a premier, shopping destination for all of East Texas. This is a win-win for Longv

iew and every vote counts! The new park replacing the current Hinsley Park would be located off Judson Road in north Longview with easier access, 70% more parking, and less traffic. It will be paid for and built by a private developer in coordination with the City of Longview. With the passage of Local Proposition No. 1, work on the new park would begin after City Council plan approval, and there will be NO downtime in the transition from Hinsley Park to the new park, which will forever remain the property of the City of Longview. NEW PARK
• More acreage – 40 acres versus the current 37.
• 4x State-of-the-art ball fields with 300-ft. outfields, covered dugouts, bleachers with shade cover. The fields are designed with a lower elevation, slope, and retaining wall to deflect sound and to keep the field’s lights below the tops of buffering trees.
• Tier 1 Championship Disc Golf Course – This 20-acre,18-hole disc golf course will be built with challenging fairways, utilizing preserved trees, and concrete tee boxes.
• Recreational Amenities – Includes 2 playgrounds, 6 pavilions, and nearly double the number of benches and picnic tables of Hinsley Park (21).
• New air-conditioned Concession Building – Equipped with WIFI/Internet and providing storage and an umpire room.
• Parking and Planned Traffic – Parking will no longer be an issue with an increase of 70% more parking spaces, and lighting designed to maintain a safe environment. Congested traffic would also be less of a concern, as the park’s new location would b away from the heavily travelled roads surrounding the current park. NEW RETAIL CENTER AT 259 & HAWKINS:
• Economic Growth – New sales and property tax revenue will strengthen the Longview’s economy.
• Premier Retail Destination – Located at the corner of Hawkins Parkway and 259, would provide new jobs and draw visitors from all over East Texas.
• A Beyond-Shopping Experience – Inviting courtyards, public art, sitting areas, a water feature and a walking trail make this new retail center pedestrian friendly and a welcoming environment to dine, shop, and spend time connecting with family and friends.
• Co-existing with Nature – The development’s goal is to preserve as much as the existing natural habitat as possible and landscape with a rich variety of native Texas plants.
• New Choices & Convenience – A Kroger Marketplace and new-to-Longview restaurants and retail shops will provide more choice and convenience.
