About this time last year year we lost our good friend Robert....thinking of you mate.
It is with a heavy, heavy heart and epic sadness that we this week said goodbye to Robert Molnar. Friend, colleague, and Tengri Expeditions/Experience original visionary.
Inbetween Christmas and New Year Rob left us. Rob had been living with an aggressively advancing cancer for the last 18months. A superbly heathly and strong individual, his spirit held on as long as it could, but in the end his body grew tired.
Rob was a guiding veteran of over 40 expeditions worldwide. Mountain Leader, WEMT, Nordic Instructor, ultra runner, and represented his beloved Hungary in ski orienteering multiple times. His wonderful world was running and mountains.
An exemplary and beautiful human; humble, passionate, gracious with unwaivering positive spirit. Rob was a tremendous person who gave so much more than he took. He had an extrodinarily uplifting effect on everyone he met.
Rob is survived by his parents and his brother, Laszlo in Hungary, and his fiance Marie and 10 month old son Robin, in France. Rob was 48 years young. The sadness at his loss is overwhelming.
You carry us on wings of positivity
On long smiling skis
With a bold beating heart
Your passion helps us to breathe
Your wit helps us laugh
Across running trails and mountain paths
Whenever the wind blows and the leaves rustle
Wherever the sun shines or the rain falls
Whenever the snows settle and the ice forms
Or when winter melts and the rivers run between mountains tall
As a happy ray of spring sun between morning clouds
Or bright moonbeam across a cold starry sky
Your wild precious soul will fly
In all the wild spaces, that’s where we’ll find you
In all the wild spaces, that’s where you’ll be
In all the wild spaces, that’s where you look after me
See you in the winds brother
