Come join us at the Marine Museum of Manitoba in Selkirk this Saturday, August 10th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for a “Model Boat Regatta”!

This FREE event, hosted by the Winnipeg Model Boat Club, will feature members showcasing, operating, and racing their model boats in a specially constructed pool.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a naval aficionado, a fan of remote-controlled vehicles, or simply looking for a unique and enjoyable afternoon, this event is perfect for you!

This is a fabulous museum to visit when you stay at Butternut Cottage! Located in St. Georges, just beyond Pine Falls, it showcases local history with a perfect blend of artifacts and explanations. Stunning architecture showcases the Winnipeg River. Well worth the 1/2 hour drive from Hillside Beach; along the way you will also see the Winnipeg River and its neighbouring communities which are showcased in this excellent museum.

Do you enjoy bird-watching? Come stay at Butternut Cottage to view our other visitors!

Just one of the amazing birds we see visiting! Spotted today out my window. The pileated woodpecker is a large, mostly black, woodpecker with red crest. It is native to North America, an insectivore, and it inhabits deciduous forests. Adults are 40 to 49 cm (16 to 19 in) long. Tate is at with your wildlife and bird finds.
