From Halloween Horror Nights, Christmas festivities, and Mardi Gras, Universal is the place to be for any holiday occasion.

Here are my top 5 tips to get the best experience out of your trip to Universal Orlando Resort:

🌎 Take midday breaks! Many people think that to get the most out of their trip they need to be at the parks from open to close – without taking any breaks. I am here to tell you that it is ok to take the midday break, go back to your hotel, spend some time at the pool, have a nice snack, and then head back to the parks in the evening. I promise that your feet (and if you are 30+, your whole body) will thank you. Plus by taking that midday break, you will also skip the peak crowd levels!

🌎Pack snacks & refillable water bottles! You can pack snacks to enjoy while you’re waiting in lines or for when you stop to take a quick seat to people watch. You can also get your water bottle refilled throughout the parks for free. Staying hydrated and warding off the hanger is key!

🌎Orlando is HOT! Fog your glasses up as soon as you step outside, hot! Especially in those summer months. To keep cool I always make sure I take advantage of the great shows in the AC. Some of my favorites are the Horror Make Up Show & Bourne Stuntacular over in the Universal Florida side of the parks. On the Islands of Adventure side I hop on and embrace getting soaking wet on the water rides.

🌎Plan a rest day / resort day! Break up the long days of walking by adding a resort day in the middle of your trip. The on-site resorts offer so much to do so take a day to lounge by the pool and enjoy the resort amenities! You could also swing by CityWalk for a round of putt putt, test your skills at the Great Escape escape room, or enjoy a relaxing meal.

🌎I cannot recommend this one enough: GET. EXPRESS. PASSES. You can either purchase these by day, or you can stay at one of the Signature Resorts that includes Unlimited Express Passes (p.s. The latter option usually ends up saving you $$$). This is by far the best perk at Universal Orlando and these babies work like a CHARM!!!! Walk up to any ride that accepts Express Pass, scan your pass, and off to the expedited line you go. You nearly bypass the long lines completely!

You guys know that I LOVE Universal Orlando Resort, and I share a lot about my “Must Dos” for when I visit. Today let’s take a look at some of the things I do NOT do when visiting.

✨ I never travel to Universal without taking advantage of Express Pass Unlimited. Express Pass Unlimited allows you to make the most out of your day by granting you the ability to skip the long lines as many times as you want, whenever you want. If you do this once, you will never be able to go back! (PRO TIP: select on-site resorts include Express Pass Unlimited for your length of stay)

✨ Speaking of on-site resorts, the second thing I would not do is stay at an off-site hotel or AirBnb. What I love about Universal Orlando is their convenience and that they have options for every budget. Universal has multiple hotel tiers, with their most budget friendly resorts having recently opened in 2019. So not only are they budget friendly, but they are beautiful, clean, new, and offer wonderful accommodations. Universal’s resort hotels also offer complimentary transportation to and from the parks, making it extremely stress free for you and your family.

✨ Finally, I would not skip out on the dining options offered at the resort hotels! These restaurants offer unique dining experiences with shorter wait times, excellent theming, and delicious food. My personal favorite is Mama Della’s at Portofino Bay. Here you can enjoy live musical performances of Nonna’s favorite traditional Italian songs.

2023 was a BUSY year, but a great one! To everyone who trusted me with their vacations, THANK YOU, 1000 times over. It has been a pleasure working with you all, and it’s been so meaningful to me.

🚨 ALERT 🚨 As of Sept 23, Disney World is pausing the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance! You will now be able to access this ride via a stand by line! How are you guys feeling about this?

Spend your evenings with Lightning McQueen and Mater when you book a Cars Family Suite at Walt Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort! This suite offers one bedroom with a queen sized bed, a double sized pull-out couch, a Murphy bed, and two full bathrooms! (Stay tuned for a video tutorial on how to pull down your Murphy bed!) For the Lion King and Finding Nemo fans… we have suites for you too! What I really love about this resort is it’s on the Skyliner, offering a fun mode of transportation to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios! Which family Suite would you want to stay in?
