Chances are no matter where you call home (unless it’s Hawaii 🌺🏖️), winter has set in ❄️☃️ and it’s not even that fun anymore without Christmas lights. 🎄 This is the perfect time to say, “Aloha” to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa! January in Oahu is “cooler,” and by cooler I mean between 70-80 degrees (ahhhhh 🏝️☀️). I’d like to add “get to Aulani” to my New Year’s Resolution list and kiss this winter goodbye. 😘 I’ll gladly trade my scarf for a lei 🌺 and my hot cocoa for a piña colada! 🍹✨

Disney park days are LONG, 🕒🏰 and let’s face it, many times they require stuff...LOTS of stuff. 🎒What five essentials do you ALWAYS have to have packed inside your Disney park bag when you are spending a day at the parks? (Bonus points if you post a picture of your go-to bag in the comments! 📸✨)

To bag or not to bag, THAT is the question! 🤔🎒 While I can’t seem to pare down to less than an oversized f***y pack kind of bag (and it took YEARS to get there ), I have heard rumors of these unicorn guests 🦄✨ who visit the parks with NO bags! Talk to me about your bag choice! How big do you go? How stuffed is it? Who has to carry it? 🤷‍♀️ Or if you are one of these master park-goers that can just walk through security without a bag in sight, who are you and what is your secret? 🤔✨

C’mon, who decided to deem National Buffet Day the day after many of us resolved to get into better shape?🤷‍♀️🥗 But here we are and if there’s one thing Disney knows how to do, it’s how to serve an epic buffet. Today, let’s talk about the options you have OUTSIDE of the parks at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Here’s a solid line-up for breakfast, lunch and dinner options:

🍳Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge for breakfast. No characters here, but the food selection is amazing!

🍓1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for an early lunch (they serve breakfast/brunch until12pm before closing until 4pm for dinner). Lot’s of variety, strawberry soup and plenty of character!

🌺‘Ohana at Polynesian Village Resort for good food (OK, not a true buffet, but it is all you care to enjoy), incredible ambiance and stick around for fireworks viewing along the beach!

💦❄️🧥🧣It probably feels weird talking about water parks when most of us are wearing so many layers we can’t put our arms fully down at our sides, but it’s actually THE PERFECT TIME to have this chat.

🏰💦 First, beginning tomorrow at Walt Disney World, if you’re staying at an on-property resort, FREE admission at one of their water parks on your check-in day is included! 🙌✨They typically only have one water park open during the winter, but are both incredibly fun.

🩱Secondly, no matter if you’re at Disney’s ❄️ Blizzard Beach, 🌀Typhoon Lagoon or over at 🌋Universal’s Volcano Bay (which just won a Travvy Award for Best Water Park🏆✨), the water is heated, the crowds are typically smaller which also means the lines can be shorter. Win-win-win!

🎟️🏖️ A free perk is definitely hard to pass up-even when the temps are down. Will you be taking advantage of Disney’s Free Water Park Admission on check-in day this year? Or if you have your eye on Universal, will you see what all the hype is about at Volcano Bay? 🌋💦

👨‍🍳🐭😍How cute are Mickey and his pals in their chef best? The character interaction alone at Chef Mickey’s gets a...you guessed it, chef’s kiss! 👩‍🍳😘 In addition to visiting your table, multiple times throughout your meal expect some singing and dancing, and the littles may even get to join in with their favorite Disney friends!

This is a true buffet experience, so you can spend as much or as little time here as you want. Take your time and hit that buffet multiple times and visit with the characters repeatedly, or grab a couple plates and wave to the characters as they pass by, it’s up to you!

🕒🏰 If you aren’t rushing to a park before or after your meal, the location is prime for some resort hopping and a monorail crawl. 🚝Who doesn’t love hearing “Por Favor Manténgase Alejado de las Puertas”?! Where does Chef Mickey’s rank for your family? Is it a must do? One and done? Tell us!⬇️

⏳🤠Here’s a piece of Disneyland history that you might not have heard. Walt and Lillian Disney celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at the Golden Horseshoe just days before the official grand opening of the park in 1955! 🎭 Through 1986, the popular Golden Horseshoe R***e stage show was performed here. (Think Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical R***e on a smaller scale.) Walt loved the wild west vaudeville show so much, he invited 300 people to attend the first official performance as part of an anniversary celebration! 😍

🍔🍟 Today, the Golden Horseshoe is a two-level quick service oasis in the heart of Frontierland serving typical theme park fare. At Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the very similar Diamond Horsehoe is a sit-down restaurant serving the menu from Liberty Tree Tavern.

📌Pro Tip: Work with me as your Travel Agent so that you can be kept in the know when it comes to important resort refurbishments. 🚨Did you know that Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed from January-June in 2025? My guests all received a heads up so I can be sure I am booking their stays at their perfect resort. What do you think, is the main pool closure enough to make you storm away from a Yacht or Beach Club stay? 👍👎

👉 Which Disney resort has THE best pool on property? Which resort pool didn’t live up to the hype for you? Which pool has the best burgers and beverages? For me, it’s Stormalong Bay at Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. That pool with the cool, sandy bottom is enough to make me choose Yacht Club or Beach Club as “home.”

🤩🛝🐇If you only ever go down one more slide in your life, make it this one! The Oceaneer’s Club on the Disney Wish is accessible via an “Alice in Wonderland” themed slide. Here’s the catch, adults sailing on the Disney Wish, only have one chance to take advantage of sliding down the rabbit hole during the club’s Open House hours on embarkation day. So don’t hesitate if you want to channel your inner child. No worries, the stairs or elevators are always an option if slides don’t equal fun to you.

🫣🌴🍸One look at Gran Destino Tower and the gorgeous rooms in this relatively new addition to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort had many of us coining a new phrase, “Deluxe Lite.” With all of the scrumptious dining options, the high end feeling lounges, the well appointed & sleek rooms, this tower feels every bit as swanky and splurge worthy as a Deluxe Resort…minus the splurge. ➡️Who else can vouch for the swagger this new Tower addition exudes?

🤩🌵🌤️ I’m not sure there’s another Disney resort who has more of a glow up than Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. What was once just a sprawling moderate resort with a cool feature pool is now two resorts in one! You still have that cool Aztec vibe with the exterior entry rooms and central gathering place for food. Then in 2019, Gran Destino Tower took things to a whole new level-literally. This high rise tower has all the bells & whistles while still remaining an affordable resort. ➡️What’s your resort style: tower or separate buildings? 🍸🌵
