Ios is becoming an international beach volley destination. This enchanting island of the Cyclades will host two top sport events in June, the panhellenic tournament "Ios Major 2023", which will take place on the 10th-11th of June with the participation of the best teams in the country, as well as the international tournament "Ios Future Pro World Tour 2023" on the 21st-24th of June. These events will contribute to the development of sport tourism on the island.

The Municipality of Ios, within the framework of Ios Festival 2023 is pleased to announce the launch of Ios Memories. The call is addressed to all those who have a connection with Ios island. Creators of any age and in any medium of expression such as Painting, Photography, Video, Artistic Constructions, Weaving, etc., are invited to produce work for the exhibition that will take place in Ios in August 2023.

Depending on the number and type of participation, specific projects will be selected based on thematic and venue criteria.

This initiative aims to encourage as much as possible the participation of creators, related to the island of Ios, in contemporary artistic issues.

🆘Submissions deadline: June 15

🔹Images of your work should be sent in [email protected]

🔹After the images of your works have been collected, a selection will be made and announced in July 15.

After two successful years in 2021 and 2022 the Municipality of Ios sets sail for yet another Ios Festival which will take place in the summer of 2023, strengthening the contemporary cultural identity of Ios with a variety of artistic activities.

We would like to remember the wonderful moments and thank all the artists, sponsors and all of you who made this experience so unique with your presence and energy.

Psathi beach is an enormous sandy beach of Ios, located 17km east of Chora. Known for its golden sand and rocky landscape, the beach uniquely combines a beautiful scenery and a perfect place for sunbathing, ideal for a chill-out as it is never really gets crowded. In short distance from the beach there is a traditional tavern using products from their own garden!

Evangelismos Cathedral church entrance gate is one of the trademark monuments of Chora. According to history, the gate was the entrance to the farmhouse of Panagiotis Amoiradakis, who in 1821 raised the flag of the revolution on the island.

Paleokastro lies in the eastern part of Ios on the top of the island’s highest hill. On taking the road back from Pirgos , you will end up on the beautiful, winding, stone-paved road to Paleokastro.
What looks like a scenically blessed place used to be a fortified area and was originally constructed to protect the local population from frequent pirate attacks. The ruins allow visitors to glimpse the Venetian Castle dating back to the 10th Century and within the middle is a beautiful Byzantine chapel with magnificent views to Paros, Naxos, Amorgos and other islands of the Aegean sea!
