Travel during the holidays can be stressful. Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year and with that, the joys of traveling to spend time with family and friends can be a season to remember (or reasons to forget). Here are a few tips to bring more positive experiences to holiday traveling.
1. Preparation and organization can remove both the minor and major irritations associated with travel. As a travelpreneur, I recommend packing a few days ahead. Pull out your carryon and start adding what you will need as you finalize plans.
Medications, meals, stretching your legs, staying warm and hydrated, are some of the considerations of an uneventful travel experience. As with many things, success and intentionality complement each other. Set your intentions and act accordingly.
2. Breathing, meditation and massage. Quite often we are more concerned about getting to the destination than how feel as we travel to the destination. We may not be aware of the amount of tension we are carrying on board along with the luggage. Time spent in the departure lounge offer opportunities for Self-care.
Layover time may not always allow for walking prior to departure but it does offer time for a few deep breaths and mini massages of temple, neck, shoulders and hands (and feet if possible).
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable travel experience in the weeks ahead.
