PASADI DANCE COMPETITION 2022

1. The City Government of Dipolog invites government agencies, civic organizations, private companies, public & private schools/institutions and commercial establishments to enliven the Christmas Season through dancing.
2. Contest will be held on November 18, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Rizal Avenue fronting Museo Dipolog.
3. Every participating group should have a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 members.
4. Costumes and props must be reflective of the yuletide season.
5. Performance time is limited to five (5) minutes only. Time starts once the musical accompaniment/sound effects begin or the first choreographed movement is made whichever is earlier.
6. The use of flammable materials such as fireworks or pyrotechnics as part of the presentation is strictly prohibited.
7. Only ten (10) entries are accepted. Should there be less than 5 registered competitors; the contest shall be declared NO CONTEST, only a PRESENTATION, However, special awards will be given to participating groups. Acceptance of entries shall be on first come first served basis. Entries must be submitted to the City Tourism Office, Tourist Hub, Dipolog Boulevard, Dipolog City. Deadline of submission of entries is on November 4, 2022 at 5:00 PM.
8. Prizes:
1st place​20,000.00
2nd place​15,000.00
3rd Place​10,000.00
Consolation for non-winning group-​P 7,000.00
9. Criteria for Judging:
A. Performance (grace and poise, stage presence)​​30pts
B. Mastery (precision and coordination)​​​​30pts.
C. Choreography​​​​​​​20pts.
D. Costumes and Props (appropriate to the theme)​​20pts.​​​​​​​​​ ​​
100pts.

PASADI 2022 : PAROL MAKING CONTEST

Participants:
​There shall be three (3) categories for the contest:
1) Inter – Barangay – one entry per barangay
2) Inter – School - one entry per school – (all levels private & public )
3) Open – open to all (individual/group/organizations)

Guidelines:

1. Entries may either be in the traditional five-point star design or modern innovative, stylized, star concept. It must be hand-made, strictly not commercially produced or bought.
2. There shall only be one (1) entry per participant.
3. Entries must use solar powered illumination and must be made of strong and durable materials to last the whole yuletide season.
4. Size must be three (3) to four (4) feet in diameter.
5. All entries must have their own hook for their lantern/parol to be displayed at the designated area during the judging day on November 25, 2022 at 6:00 PM.
6. Only three (3) winners per category will be declared and shall receive prizes in the following order:
1st Place - ​ P20,000.00 plus Plaque
2nd Place - 15,000.00 plus Plaque
3rd Place - 10,000.00 plus Plaque
Non winning entries shall receive Certificates of Participation
7. After the judging all entries will be displayed at the Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School area from November 22, 2022 until January 22, 2023. All winning entries shall become property of the City government of Dipolog.
8. Registration of entries shall be submitted to the City Tourism Office, Tourist Hub, Dipolog Boulevard, Dipolog City. Submission of entries as early as November 7, 2022.
9. Criteria for judging:
Creativity ​​​40 pts. Craftmanship​ ​​40 pts
Over all Appearance ​​20 pts

10. The Decision of the Board of Judges is final and incontestable.

Through the continuous efforts of the Department of Tourism Region IX in coordination with the City Government of Dipolog thru its City Tourism Office to provide sustainable programs for the tourism industry, the DOT IX conducts Tourism C.O.A.T.S (Checking Our Aptitude on the Typhoon Season) seminar.

This program aims to train the accommodation sector to prepare security and safety plans not only during the typhoon season but all year-round to ensure the safety of guests. Also, this will assist the sectors to prepare business continuity plan.

Tourism C.O.A.T.S is a 2-Day Seminar scheduled from October 18-19, 2022 at Missio Dei Hotel, Dipolog City with Resource Speaker Mr. Denis Aguilar, Security and Safety Manager, Ms. Philetta Tiempo, OIC-Provincial Tourism Officer and Ms. Cecile Bilog, City Tourism Officer.

FYI:
Starting October 11, 2022, Outbound passengers of the Port of Dipolog may avail the Free Shuttle Service from the Port Terminal Building (Passenger Pre-Departure) to the RoRo Ramp.

Only Passengers with small handcarry luggages or with no luggages may be accommodated at the free shuttle service. Priority shall be given to Senior Citizens, Pregnant women, PWDs and children.

Free Ride service is available daily from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM with trips every 15 minutes.

Please note that bulk baggages are still to be handled by the porters.
