Welcome to the Hawthorne Hotel, located in Salem, MA, known for being one of the most haunted hotels in the US.
The Hawthorne Hotel is named after the famous author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and located near his birthplace on Union Street. The Hawthorne hotel officially opened its doors to the public on July 21, 1925. However, before opening their doors is where they’re haunted history begins. 👻
It is said that the building that is now known as the Hawthorne Hotel, experienced multiple fires 🔥 which finally left the building in ruins in 1860. This led architects to reconstruct the building in 1863, where it caught fire again a year later in 1864.
The residents of Salem then decided that they wanted this building to be the hotel that would attract visitors to Salem, later naming it the Hawthorne Hotel. 🏨
For some of you, this hotel may seem familiar to you because it is where they filmed the series Bewitched: The Salem Saga in 1970. 🧙♀️
Some say that the Hawthorne Hotel resides on an apple orchard that was owned by Bridget Bishop, the first woman that was executed during the Salem Witch trials for practicing magic. 🪄
Guests have reported to have encountered her spirit in the Hotel, as well as a strong scent of apples 🍎. It is also said that the most haunted rooms are room 325 and 612, where it has been reported that a spirit roams the halls at night, furniture moving, and noises such as flushing toilets and the water faucets turning on. 👻
The Hawthorne Hotel is a must stay, especially during Halloween, if you love the paranormal or enjoy ghost hunting! You can also join a ghost hunt or a tour of the hotel if you don’t plan on staying the night! 🌙
The Hawthorne Hotel also hosts an annual Halloween Ball that you shouldn’t miss! It will be held on October 23, 2021 and you must be 21+! 🎃

The Waitomo Glowworm caves, located in Waitomo, New Zealand, first explored in 1887 by local Maori Chief Tane Tinorau and an English surveyor, Fred Mace.
When they entered the caves, they discovered that the ceilings were dotted with the lights of thousands of glowworms.
Later in 1889, Chief Tane Tinorau opened the cave to tourists for a small fee. In 1906 the administration of the cave was taken over by the government. In 1989 the land and the cave were returned to the descendants of the original owners.🌲🍃
Many staff employed at the caves today are direct descendants of Chief Tane Tinorau and his wife Huti.🌿

Go outside and enjoy the fresh air, go for a hike, read a book (whether it be fantasy or nonfiction), paint, take a pottery class, meditate, do yoga, build a table, complete a puzzle, cook your favorite meal, bake a cake, plant a garden, watch your favorite movie, listen to new music, take a relaxing bath, learn how to play an instrument, play your favorite sport, go kayaking, etc.
These are just some activities you can try out, but do what you love! It is important to look after yourself and find an outlet that works for you. 🌞

Cherry blossoms bloom once a year during March and April and only bloom for up to 14 days! In Japan, they are seen as a symbol of renewal🍃

This resort offers an array of accommodations, from glass igloos to log chalets, to even a Finland traditional house!
If you have never seen the Northern lights, I recommend you stay in their glass igloos, where you can sleep under the stars and admire the magical northern lights from the comfort of your warm bed.
It doesn’t seem like you could get bored at this arctic resort since they offer a numerous amount of activities. From skiing and snowboarding 🏂 , to reindeer safaris and sledding with huskies, you can even visit Santa 🎅🏽 during the winter time 🎄
Since we don’t recommend you travel this year, we do recommend that you save this resort on your bucket list for next year’s winter season ❄️ I know I will ☃️

This year is definitely one for the books, so I thought we should end on a high note ❄️ There is something therapeutic about baking from scratch and it allows you to disconnect from social media and your daily activities!
Here I will attach a recipe that isn’t mine, haha because let’s be honest, I wouldn’t do that to you.... 🎄
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Mix dry ingredients together
Mix liquid ingredients together
Mix both dry and liquid ingredients
Form into balls and place on cookie sheet
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes
