Flip flops are the unofficial shoe of summer. I live in flip flops & sandals!
While they have been around since 4,000 BC, they didn’t get their name until the 1960’s. They could have easily been called slappies or snap-snaps based on the sounds they make, but flip flops stuck. What would you have called them? Let us know in the comments.
