So many great places to walk! @ Wallingford, Seattle
It’s Veterans Day today (also-Armistice Day). What better way to pay tribute than to visit The Museum of Flight on Boeing Field. We had the opportunity to listen to a panel of Vietnam Veterans tell about their experiences as members of search and rescue teams during combat. It’s hard to wrap your head around what these individuals went through to save their fellow service members. They were all highly decorated but I know deep down inside we owe them so much more! All one can really say is, “Thank you for your service!”

The following quote is taken directly from the website togetherseattle.com. We love our community!
“All people deserve access to justice, protection from violence, and the opportunity to stay together with family, no matter where they were born or how much money they have.
Participating establishments will donate 10% of proceeds from November 14th to the NW Immigrant Rights Project, a Washington state-based non-profit that has been defending and advancing the rights of immigrants in Washington State since 1984 and serves over 20,000 community members from over 130 countries every year.
The largest legal-services organization serving low-income immigrants and refugees in the Pacific Northwest, NW Immigrant Rights Project provides legal representation and assistance to immigrants, including representing people who are seeking protection from deportation, safety from violence, the ability to reunite with loved ones, citizenship, or new opportunities in work and education...
Because everyone deserves a seat at the table!”
Nothing feels quite so good as to be handed a delicious latte, with a beautiful ❤️ inscribed in wonderfully dense foam at a great cafe! We’ve been customers at the Solstice Cafe in the UDistrct for years. Doug and Joel, co-owners, are almost always in the shop. Which, to me, is one of the reasons these guys have had success since 1993...they really care about their business!!! And, we support them 💯 percent! @ Cafe Solstice
Seattle’s Pacific Place is being transformed. It’s going to be exciting to see what it’s like when it’s complete. It’s a great shopping mall and we are hoping it will completed by the holidays! @ Pacific Place Seattle
It’s a stroke of luck to have Essential Baking within walking distance; only a couple of blocks away. But be careful, don’t fall under the Magic Bar spell or you’ll find yourself longing for them everyday! @ The Essential Baking Company
The Pacific Inn Pub.. If you’ve lived in Fremont or Wallingford you’ve most likely eaten there at least once. It has a great deck that’s packed in the summer. It’s a dive bar with incredible fish and chips. Even Anthony Bourdain, in Parts Unknown, Season 10 in Seattle, couldn’t resist giving your time to the Pacific Inn. [I apologize for my picture of the fish and chips. Before I could take the photo my husband had already eaten the coleslaw and taken a bite of the fish. It’s that good. He couldn’t resist.] @ Pacific Inn Pub
There’s nothing like the coast along the Pacific Ocean to capture ones imagination; stormy nights, the beams from lighthouses shinning through thick fog and ocean spray as we walk along the shore. We love the west coast!
Another beautiful night in this beautiful city. Sunset is one of our favorite times to take a walk around Lake Union
This is Rosie the Robot. She’s a security robot patrolling the streets of San Francisco. She has a checkered past - terrorizing the homeless. They seem to have brought her back. She must have been re-programmed?
We spent today hiking through the north Sierras with Cody as our guide! He wards off the coyotes and wolves that wander through the woods around Whitehawk Ranch
We love hiking in the Cascades and Olympics but one of the most amazing things about the Sierra’s is the easy access to alpine meadows and lakes. From the parking lot its about 15 minutes to get to Round Lake in the Plumas National Forest @ Plumas National Forest
We’re having a great time on our California vacation, but nothing beats seeing the space needle everyday!
It’s National Cat Day today. Lenny has a loving home but many cats don’t. Please consider a rescue when you are thinking about sharing your life with a cat! @ Seattle City Stays
The Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Tacoma, WA as seen from the Amtrak Coast Starlight. We are still reflecting on what was an incredible ride! @ Tacoma, Washington
The Los Angeles skyline looks a lot more impressive than it used to look. But, the Seattle skyline is hard to beat from any angle! @ Los Angeles, California
What a way to start...a Tesla Uber ride to King Street Station in Seattle to take the Coast Starlight to Los Angeles @ King Street Station
How cool 😎 is this! More information on their website- SRWEEK.COM!
We really do get some amazing fall days in Seattle!
The rain has found its way back to Seattle. We can no longer smell the roses so why not a freshly brewed cup of coffee!
When looking east towards Capitol Hill from Lake Union it’s hard to miss St. Marks Cathedral, it dominates the view. Affectionately referred to as “the Holy Box”. Architecturally, it looks fortress-like during the day, and a beacon of light at night. @ Lake Union
High atop Queen Anne Hill (called the Counterbalance - in memory of the cable cars that once ran up and down the hill) sits the 5 Spot restaurant. One of Seattle's go to eateries serving American fare for over 30 years. We like to eat breakfast there. Believe it or not, the oatmeal - steeped in cream with raisins, apples and, if you wish, pecans and brown sugar. They say, “At the 5 Spot, the grill is always hot, the bloody marys are always spicy and the beer is always cold.” And, it’s true! @ 5 Spot
Tonight is one of those nights where the air is fresh and clean after a rainy day and the lights of the city shine bright. We couldn’t resist sharing it with you!
Bumped into the nicest guy in Fremont last summer. He let us take his photo as we were intrigued by his mode of transportation. Couldn’t help but wonder as we raced across Fremont Avenue North today in the rain, if he had to put away his electric unicycle for the winter? @ Fremont, Seattle
Fremont’s Shilling Cider House has an amazing selection of hard ciders available. It’s one of our favorite places to go to try new flavors! We love the Rhubarb Pear cider. What’s your favorite?
Elliott Bay Marina is, as they say, “More than just a place to dock your boat”. We enjoy the views of Seattle, admiring the fall foliage cascading down Magnolia bluff, Maggie Bluffs for a casual meal and Palisade for fine dinning. @ Elliott Bay Marina
Whether you like to spend time in museums or not we encourage you to visit the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), located in Lake Union Park, to appreciate the full historic restoration of the Naval Reserve Armory as well as the collection. It’s an impressive structure sited at the South end of Lake Union. If you do decide to visit the collection, be sure to say hello to Bobo! @ Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI)
I love the houseboats on Lake Union. I like the idea of living in a floating neighborhood, walking on a dock to my front door, and launching my kayak off my deck. I can’t imagine a sleepless night in Seattle living on a houseboat. @ Lake Union
Did you know this weekend was the Grand Opening of the New Burke Museum on the Univeristy of Washington Campus. It’s worth a visit and a meal at Off the Rez Cafe! @ Burke Museum
Did you know that in 1999 the City of Seattle adopted a law designating 149 public streets in Seattle that end on waterfronts as special rights of way to be preserved and improved for public use? The remaining 200 miles of shoreline along Lake Washington, Lake Union, Puget Sound, and other waterways in Seattle is either privately-owned or park land. So please get out and use those Shorline Street Ends! (Pictured: Street end next to Ivars Salmon House) @ Ivar's Salmon House
