The dog on the left is Bambi. Bambi was our first foster. And our first foster fail. She was found on the streets of Fort Lauderdale during a hurricane. Noone ever claimed her and it was unclear what her life had been like. She was skinny and skiddish. She stayed at the vet clinic where I worked for months waiting adoption. Since she did not really warm up to people, it was hard to get her adopted. So, when Michael and I bought our house, we figured she should get a chance at learning the ropes of home living to help her open up. It took months for her to even like being touched. We threw treats on the floor for her to come to us. But eventually, we decided to keep her, she was calm and sweet. Adopting Wasabi was a turning point for Bambi, she really came out of her shell, she started to play, and to talk (rhouuuuu). She eventually passed away from cancer about a year after we got Wasabi. She really started it all as she was also Michael and I's first pup.
