PHILOTIMO : Etymology: From pílos (phílos = friend, here »loving«) + Tīmń (tīme = honor) + -o (-o)

The most untranslatable, sophisticated, and truly mysterious word in the Greek language is the noun filotimo, literally translating into »friend of honor.«1

The core concept is that of small, random acts of kindness that reflect one’s personality and the manner in which one was raised. Filotimo describes an attitude toward fellow humans and humanity at large. It means showing empathy, compassion, and generosity without expecting anything in return, taking pride in doing what is right and honorable and being humble at the same time.

If you love green tea, try my mountain bloom - a blend of Japanese genmaicha and Australian shincha grown in the Kiewa valley. Sweet & umami, no bitterness with a milky mouthfeel. Perfect pick me up without the coffee jitters. It’s the best if you ask me!

Morning tea time… if only I had a piece of basque cheesecake from Michelle Crawford right now!

Such an important practice. Something I’m trying to do more of.

Either laying flat or with my legs up the wall, just 20 mins. Try it, your nervous system will thank you, I promise.

In a society where busyness = success and the juggle is real, we need to rethink our relationship to rest.

I set Dales Run up as my resting place, my place to heal.

Do you need a rest? Give yourself permission, put yourself first for a change.

I just enjoyed the most beautiful night with and it was just what my soul needed. I’m leaving refreshed & rested.

A change of plans has left this weekend free for you to come and rest… with all my favourite resting tools, sauna, sea, bed & baths.

Only thing close is the familiar smell of the rain after it passes 🌧

One of my favourite acts of self care...infrared sauna 🧖‍♀️ Not only relaxing but great at detoxifying and reducing inflammation. I feel so much clearer and grounded after a good sweat.

My new favourite routine is to take a cup of citrus lift (our lemon & ginger) tea in with me. Ginger is really warming & great for circulation, the Australian grown lemon scented tea tree we use in the blend is an excellent antiviral. Sauna & Wellness Teas = Self care squared!

We are looking for a House Keeper/Stylist for Dales Run in Kiama, someone to join us in looking after our unique boutique accommodation. The perfect person will ideally live locally, be creative, have amazing attention to detail, is enthusiastic and house proud! Our change overs occur between 11am & 3pm so work is flexible between these times or at other flexible times between bookings. This role would suit someone that doesn’t need structured hours and is available for some weekend work. The right person is trustworthy, loves to work autonomously as well alongside me via email & text for booking updates etc. Each change over is a maximum 3-4 hours work & will require some shopping, housekeeping & styling at each change. Someone with their own ABN would be preferred but can also employ casually.

Our home has been designed with lots of love and detail so we are looking for the right person that will look after it with the same love & care.

This role is perfectly suited to someone who has a creative eye and loves to present things beautifully but also understands the high standards of cleaning required for holiday property rentals & how to set up, prepare for and welcome new guests with special touches.
