A Love Note to my Clients 🩷🩷

As one set of sweet clients head home today and a second get ready to head out- I just want to say “THANK YOU” from the bottom of my heart for supporting my business.

My October check paid for:

It also allowed me to work from home when she was sick, attend her Halloween party and Trick or Treat, and her zoo field trip (although 30 mins was spent on the phone lining out details)

Many see that we travel and assume that’s what I am paying for. And sometimes it does help, but our travel is 70-80% a mishmash of credit card rewards (if you are looking to get a travel credit card hit me up, I have a referral code and all the insight as I juggle 3 of them) kickbacks, my discounts as a travel professional, and coupon apps. It is still a luxury even for me. So the bills always get paid first, and this job helps with that

When the Travel Agent doesn’t have to Travel Agent: Tales of my first time as a Passenger Princess.

Ya’ll.
So often I feel like my job is viewed as unnecessary or indulgent. And yes- technically people can- to a degree- do what I do.
But the internet creates so often- a false confidence.
And leads to hours upon hours of info bonbardment- half of it sketch at best, AI photos, or teeny tiny policies and zero customer service that explain why it is exactly $37 cheaper than myself as a Travel Agent.
But.
This Fall Break I was, for one of the first times, a “Passenger Princess” And let me tell you-
It. Was. AWESOME.

My sweet bonus parents lent us their cabin- Lodging ✅ No hours searching for hotels in budget and good and safe locations with amenities making it more valuable, calculating oarking vs rate and cancallation policies, etc.

My husband drove us- Transportation ✅
No flight searches or budget calculations,
No connection weather watches, plane delays or rebooking. No train tickets, private transfers, shuttles, water taxis, etc.

My Bonus Mom told me where to eat,
where the parks abd playgrounds were for Rip,
And friends suggested extra activities based around her interests and age-
Entertainment ✅

The FAST/FUN FACTS were given to me instead of meticulously researched BY me. ✅

Usuallt I do ALL of this and more for myself AND especially my clients.

And to not have to? Hot. Damn.
Game Changer.
I relaxed! I rejuvenated! I came home recharged instead of grateful but ultimately more depleted!

And any part of me that thought my job as a Travel Agent was maybe superfluous (as it is often viewed) was squashed to flocking bits.

I don’t know if it’s the misconception that using an agent is way more expensive- the fact is is the vast majority of our fees are paid for by hoteliers/tour companies/resorts/etc.
Or why so often people inquire about trips with me for free, and then book themselves online in a 3rd party site leaving the alotted Travel Agent money to the FatCats (yes travel agent fees are almost always built into the majority of hotel rates, etc. By not using me you literally just leave it for them to get to scoop up.) because they quote didn’t want to bother me. “ 🥴

Or what. And I was starting to let myself believe that maybe as much as I love it it wasn’t as valuable as I believed.

To Hell with being humble- I. Am. Fantastic. 🤣🙌 This was truly a vacation. And I return replenished with the belief that I am doing exactly what I believed I was doing:
Creating Memories.
Removing Stress.
Helping turn those travel wishes into wall canvases. 🩷
