The Mentawais are one of the most remote and beautiful surf destinations in the world. This string of islands sits about 150km off the coast of West Sumatra out in the Indian Ocean. We’ll meet and depart from Padang (the capital of the West Sumatra province of Indonesia) - heading to our tropical island oasis of endless waves and palm trees. We will use boats to transfer each day to a variety of 10+ intermediate+ surf breaks all within a 20-minute boat ride of our villa.

Based in Ahangama, on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka, we’ll spend 10 nights at Tekanda Lodge, situated just above the Indian Ocean and a short 5-10 minute tuk-tuk ride away from 15+ different surf breaks suitable for all ability levels. When we’re not surfing we’ll relax poolside, practice yoga and barre, explore the town of Ahangama, and visit one of the major national parks in Sri Lanka home to elephants, leopards, monkeys, crocodiles, and more!

There are two primary freshwater dolphin species in the Amazon, a smaller grey dolphin (picture 1) and what’s commonly referred to as the Pink River dolphin (picture 2). The Amazon River dolphin, also known as the pink river dolphin or boto, lives only in freshwater. It is found throughout much of the Amazon River and Rio Negro. Adults acquire a pink color, more prominent in males, giving it its nickname “pink river dolphin”.
