Just got back from an awesome few days at Universal Orlando!!! Home to two Harry Potter lands (soon to be three!), plus lots of other great rides and IP, including Dreamworks, Marvel, Mignons and more! I’ll share a lot of ride and restaurant highlights over the next few weeks but for now here are just a few. We stayed at two on site Universal hotels and I will do in-depth reviews of those as well so stayed tuned!

In the meantime if you are excited about Universal’s newest theme park which is opening in May with a Super Mario land and more, please reach out to me to book a trip! Disney Resort Spotlight: Saratoga Springs!

On my most recent stay at Disney World we spent a few nights in a one bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs. Here’s what you need to know about this resort:

🐎 the theming is all about horse racing and looks very much like upstate New York (just with nicer weather!)
🚌 transportation to the parks is all by bus and there is a long internal bus route. This is a downside to this resort and the main reason I do not normally recommend it to first time Disney guests
🍔 the food at the resort is good but mostly American and the menu is limited. However…
🚶‍♀️it is just a short walk or boat ride over to Disney Springs, which has amazing food! (But does not open till 10 so you are stuck with breakfast on site unless you cook yourself or have breakfast in the parks)
👩‍🍳 even the smallest rooms have kitchenettes!
🛌 the rooms were recently renovated and are comfortable and stylish and well laid-out, with pull down Murphy beds in the living spaces
👵 this is a great resort for extended families! With many multi-room options available to book, you can all stay in one place and have some space to hang out and relax outside of the parks
⛳️ the grounds are gorgeous and golf is right next to the resort
🏊 three swimming pools and the main feature pool is awesome with an infinity entrance and the best baby splash pad!

Traveling with a baby to Disney?? Here’s what you need to know!

- you can take babies on any ride that doesn’t have a height requirement!
- a baby carrier is a necessity
- strollers need to be parked in a designated stroller parking spot near the ride entrance and cannot be brought into the queue
- changing tables are in every single bathroom on property
- there are baby care centers in each park (I never used them but I have colleagues who swear by it! A relaxing clean space to nurse, warm bottles, etc)
- you have to fold strollers to get on to the buses, but not the monorail, and not for most boats (some you do some you don’t)
- no one is going to steal your stroller (there are cameras everywhere!) so bring the one that your LO is most comfy in
- bring a car seat for the ride to and from the airport if you aren’t pre-booking a car service that provides one
- babies will have a great time if you’re having a great time; too young to really appreciate that Disney magic but if you are enjoying the time there with your loved ones they will enjoy it too!

Attraction spotlight: Enchanted Tales with Belle at Magic Kingdom

It’s been a rough adjustment back to real life (it’s so cold and gets dark at 4pm… take me back to Florida!) and I’ve been reminiscing about our first park day last week when we did Enchanted Tales with Belle for the first time with my friend and her three year old. My 9 year old son got picked to be the beast, my friend’s 3 year old got picked to be Chip, and it was delightfully adorable!

The premise of this attraction is that you are invited into the castle and asked to put on a surprise performance for Belle re-enacting her story. They purposefully keep the groups small so that any kiddo who wants a part gets a part! At the end everyone gets a picture with Belle.

I had heard from clients about how great this attraction was and I’m so grateful to have been “forced” to go because of our 3 year old companion. I can not wait to do this again with my baby girl when she is a bit older! I would say this a must do for the under 7 set and a must do for any beauty and the beast fan! And even your avid soccer fan 9 year old will be entertained and find magic!

Next in this week of celebrating my recent client trips is the Steinbergs! I’ll let Jaclyn’s own words take the show here:

“We had the most wonderful time! We all just love Disney, it's so fun and silly and pure joy. The hotel was perfect. From the newly renovated rooms which were very pretty to the gorgeous lobby, and the nightlife of the boardwalk, it was just perfection. It was so fun to come home from the parks and still have that energy. The kids would unwind at night by watching the movie on the lawn which seems like a small thing, but it was such a sweet way to end the night.

Your tips for the parks, the rides to rope drop and LL tutorials were incredibly helpful to guide our days. I felt very prepared, knowing what to tackle and where. Even your comment on studying the parks so you know where things are within was a huge part of me comfortably guiding us along the day.

I really took to your notes on shows to see and they did not disappoint. The Lion King was fantastic! We all really enjoyed it! and, you were 100% on the nose with the Magic Kingdom wait times that Friday morning. Even with my lightning lanes, we could really do most rides with only a 10 min wait.

The three restaurants we tried on your recommendation were fantastic! Tusker House was great. Food was delicious, the service was even better and the kids loved seeing the characters (even though my 10 year old prior to going said he wasn't into it...he was!). Our dinner on our anniversary the night we arrived was delicious. We were all super tired, but the food was fantastic and the service also went above and beyond to help accommodate my picky eater son.

Thank you for all your guidance and patience (especially with all my last-minute texting). You really made yourself available whenever I needed, and we truly appreciate it. I do not think our trip would have been as successful had we not had you!”

In September Jess went on the Disney Wonder on a magical cruise to Alaska with their sister! Another bucket list trip, this 7 night sailing featured stops in Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Ketchikan, and a day of glacier viewing. Disney Cruise Line is a great way to see Alaska - great food, great childcare AND great adult only areas, and great itineraries that will get you up close and personal with glaciers and the rest of the gorgeous Alaskan scenery and wildlife! Dr S reached out to me last summer about planning a bucket list trip to see the great migration while on safari in Africa. As a solo traveler she wanted a small safe group to travel with and advice on which of the many itineraries and providers would fit her best. I booked her on National Geographica’s expedition “On Safari - Tanzania's Great Migration“.
Here’s some of where she had to say about her trip:

“Everything about the trip was fantastic.

National Geographic is the way to go on safari. Everything was very organized, the tour director very experienced, the drivers amazing (they could spot wildlife everywhere while driving). The educational aspects/lectures were very good. Overall the accommodations were lovely. The food everywhere was excellent and plentiful. The people were warm and embracing. Our group was comprised of 21 interesting and lovely people. We saw an enormous number and variety of wildlife, including the migration of wildebeest across the Mara River.

It was a trip of a lifetime. Thank you for all that you did to make it happen!”

I’m grateful to Dr S for the opportunity to push beyond my personal travel horizons to explore all the travel opportunities that African safaris provide. I researched for hours and hours. Part of the joy of being a travel advisor is the opportunity to learn. Client showcase: the Best family!
Grandpa Bill started planning with me more than a year in advance for treating himself, his wife, their two daughters and spouses, and two grandsons to a magical long weekend at Disney world. Many months of detailed planning passed - everything was planned to magical perfection - and then Hurricane Milton hit two days before they were due to arrive!! Luckily I was able to delay their check in date and then secure alternate accommodations to extend their trip by a day. They still had an amazing time!

Tomorrow is one week from our check in at Disney World!! 🐭 🌎

We are celebrating my middle child’s 10th birthday and having Thanksgiving with my dad and his wife who are flying in from out west to experience Disney World for the first time in forever.

I am so grateful to be able to plan vacations as a living, and to be able to say when I go on vacation that my family’s experiences are not only enriching to us ( !) but also as a knowledge base for my ability to advise all of my clients. Disney’s Riviera Resort was absolutely everything I had hoped it would be for our stay this fall!

We stayed with friends in a two bedroom suite which features a gorgeous king bedroom with en suite tub, and a shower/toilet combo that connects to the hallway, a two queen room with its own split bath with two showers, a full eat in kitchen, and a living room featuring a pull down queen and a pull down single, with two balconies featuring the nightly fireworks from Epcot! It was gorgeous and divine and for once I felt like I could spend the entire vacation in the hotel room and have had a wonderful time (although my exhaustion from traveling with a baby might have played into that a bit!)

This hotel features excellent transportation with skyliner right to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

The quick service was excellent but the menu was limited. All the rooms have full kitchens or kitchenettes after all!

The pool was fun but not the best of all the deluxe hotels.

Who is this hotel best for?
- multi generational groups who want to make/eat some meals in their rooms
- families with tweens/teens (hello that quick access to Hollywood studios and Epcot!)
- families with strollers and nap times who don’t want to go to magic kingdom more than once (no need to collapse a single stroller to get on the skyliner and a one bedroom suite makes for perfect naptimes for everyone!)
- those wanting a gorgeous aesthetic and great transportation options!

Disney has debuted its new skip the line service, and it’s now called “lightening lane multi pass” and “lightening lane single pass.” Of course VIP tours are still the best option 😉 (and yes I can book those for you!) however this is the affordable option, and yes there are still going to be lots of tips & tricks for best use! Yet again we have a product that is not intuitive with lots of complexity. Bad news for the average consumer, but good news for those booking with a travel agent who specializes in Disney! Book (and have your friends book) with me so that you can be sure to have a wonderful time at the parks waiting in line as little as possible! Happy Star Wars Day!! On this May the fourth I’d like to showcase one of my favorite rides of all time! “Rise of the Resistance” is a half hour experience that yes does incorporate a ride (sorry for the ride spoilers in this footage!) but is more like being part of the actual Star Wars story than it is a traditional ride. The cast members are all in character the whole time and it’s an incredible experience! On this day last year I was with my travel agent colleagues and friends at The Vacationeer, touring rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This is the white sand beach in front of the club level rooms at the Polynesian. Is the sand really as clean as it looks? Yes! It is pristine!! (It’s the Disney magic.) These two monorail resorts also feature private boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.
