The beach in Port Aransas has been flooded today by an extra-high tide due to a disturbance in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. A tropical storm warning has been issued for the Coastal Bend. Heavy rain is expected over the next few days.
This view is looking south from Horace Caldwell Pier. That's the Aransas Princess condominium in the background.
Driving along the beach road has been difficult, with water reaching the dunes in places.
The waves are big, and rip currents are likely. Anyone entering the water should use plenty of caution due to the hazardous conditions.
