"Penny was an amazing host, and the house was just great for our family. The location next to a major grocery is a big plus and with a kitchen so well-appointed it made self-catering quite fun. The response time for a quick fix item was prompt and our hosts even sent Halloween treats (a big hit with our teenager) While parking a bit of a challenge, it is free, and location to St Albans events via bus or Uber was so easy. We rate this holiday rental all gold stars! We will be back."

"Great location, local shops and restaurants are great. The area is lovely and the people friendly. We had absolutely no issues in the three months that we stayed there. The cottage was lovely and clean, and Penny was an amazing and generous host! The garden was great to use during the summer period. I would definitely recommend this property for all of the above reasons. Myself and my family really enjoyed our stay."

"The house is really as described and you will find everything you need. Penny is amazing in making sure you are settled in and comfortable in your stay. Any issues or problems she will be so efficient and quick to help fix any of them! Location is great and safe! We really had a fantastic time and our long stay was super! Highly recommended!"

Penny is a very supportive host. Lovely home with lots of personal touches. Attic bedroom and en-suite is lovely. Great tub bath in 2nd bathroom. Lots of positives. So thoughtful to leave some festive treats. Nice brisk walk [25mins] up to main centre of St Albans. Enjoyable stay.

“Having had our house purchase fall through days before our expected completion date, we were very fortunate to find Lavender Cottage. We expected to be there for one month but ended up staying for two. The property is spotless, comfortable and very well equipped. We both needed to work from home and it was easy enough to set up two home-offices with plenty of space. We especially loved the peacefulness of the tasteful master bedroom and the beautiful and enormous bath-tub. We could not have asked for a better location with a supermarket around the corner and several restaurants/take-away options within walking distance. Lavender Cottage is also only 15 minutes by foot from St Albans City Station. From the outset Penny made us feel so welcome with her attentive hosting and super-quick responses to all our questions. I thoroughly recommend Lavender Cottage for any length of stay!”
