On May 3, 2024, Visit Rupununi concluded its Annual General Meeting and Elections, marking a momentous occasion for the organization. We are happy to welcome our newly elected executive team and wish them the very best in furthering our organization's mission.

We take this opportunity to thank all who served on our previous board. Thank you for your contributions and we wish you the utmost success in your future endeavors.

The Gift

Some say stroke of luck or simple destiny
I say act of God, for only he
could give this blessed land to me.

With generous hand he shared this wonderland,
be it mountain high or creature small.
By rivers spread and fearless tread,
we must go forth to greet them all.

But if we are to love, we must first learn
the orchid’s scent and forest pathway’s turn,
the savannah bloom and every parrot's call,
the Jaguar’s growl and roar of the waterfall.

The most fitting way to give thanks to him
is to love our land and scale each mountain rim,
for how sweet are dreams of mountain streams
when we are old and eyes grow dim.

And when our life comes to an end
how happy we should be,
knowing our children will have to spend
such a wondrous legacy.
