Where once physical proximity was required for people to get work done, thanks to digital communication and all the advanced and accessible technologies (collaboration platforms, videoconference softwares, communication apps, digital project management tools…), businesses have now the opportunity to reimagine workplaces for a more efficient and productive organization.

But, it cannot be seen simply as a chance to increase efficiency or reduce costs, because it will have an effect on the workplace culture. And we do know that company culture is highly connected to both innovation and business results, as well as employee satisfaction and productivity. So, as teams become more distributed, organizations need to rethink how they will foster culture and team connections.

In 2020, the entire world witnessed a brutal shift towards remote work, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before, only around 7% worked full-time remotely, and now more than 50% of workers have reported working from home full-time.
What would happen when the pandemic is over? Will most of us still stay fully remote? Will we find a kind of hybrid system? Or will we come back to “normal”?

Years ago, going on workations was available only for a few lucky freelancers or online business owners, but not anymore. The pandemic has taught businesses of all sizes that remote work works.
