Sunny Coast vibes, signing up for Sunday nippers 7am start 😮 house hunting, and Emma's high school orientation day. Morning walks and swims are the best.

Woodside beach pt2 more beach, more sun and more relaxing with mates... even managed a night of Yahtzee fireside in the shed. Somehow, we avoided all the storms until our last afternoon, so no complaints 👍

Halls Gap for a few nights, a place we haven't explored before but highly recommend. We lucked out with the weather. We visited McKenzie Falls, the walk is 2km, and you'll need to trek down 260 narrow steps to reach the base of the falls, so be prepared for a difficult climb back to the top

1 night stop on the bank of Green Hill Lake, just east of Ararat. Great but busy free camp, lots of shady spots, firepits, toilet, bush walks around the lake, people fishing, and having fun out on water. Smashed my drone, so not a great day!!

Back on the road, taking the new Xtour for its first trip! Night 1 was in Daylesford to experience the mineral springs. Morning walk around the lake to catch sunrise, then to the Bathhouse to soak. Soda water on tap, yummy chocolate shops, and spring flowers everywhere... a beautiful historic town.

Full transparency , they allowed us to view the construction of our van multiple times, and we appreciate their efforts and hard work 🙌 We loved the personal attention and the ability to customise the van.
Metal fatigue vs rot, we went back and forwards with opting for a timber framed van, but if it's manufactured properly, it shouldn't leak or be an issue, right? Time will tell if we made the right decision..

A very wet and rainy visit to the Dubbo zoo. We contemplated not doing it, but as we had booked a golf cart in advance, they then wouldn't give us a refund...so off we went with beanies and umbrellas. Although it rained our whole visit, we still loved it.

Lightning Ridge part 2.... we ventured out to the Orange Car Door tour to experience the 'real' opal outback... such a desolate, sparse environment, with random buildings (aka old shipping containers called the Hilton!) popping up to sell hamburgers to hungry tourists at lunchtime! Back to the Artesian Pool again after dinner for a night dip.

Another border crossing, back into NSW, and only a short drive to Lightning Ridge. 1st stop, Chamber of the Black Hand, to do the sculpture tour... the skill and dedication were amazing! Drove around town, spotting all the Emu murals, then sussed out the Red and Blue Car Door tours to see a little more about life around the Ridge..

Coolum Beach ⛱️ what can we say, we love you. On our way back down, we stopped back in at the Sunny Coast, spent our winter days swimming, beaching, and living the dream. Loved the Marcoola twilight markets, such a cool, friendly vibe. Can definitely say we will be back here some day soon ❤️

How do you like your eggs??
On Hamilton Island. Nothing like a little splurge to celebrate joining the dots... 5 nights on Hamilton Island. Soaking up all the Island has to offer, we really enjoyed the resort life and being pampered with space.... nothing like big beds, a couch, and a massive bathroom! We love our van, but this was something special. And we were spoilt with amazing sunsets every night.

Finally, we joined the dots!! We started our coastal lap here in March 2022, but Covid hit us bad 😭 so we couldn't truly enjoy the beauty of Airlie Beach. So, 15 months later, back to where we started to experience it all over again! Lagoon swims, Northerlies with friends, heaps of pool time, and soaking up the sun 🌞🌴😎

Got to love an impulsive decision that turns out to be an awesome escape! We ditched the van for 3 nights and caught the boat to Great Keppel Island.. AKA barefoot paradise 🌴great location, amazing food, and the best company to hang with on the beach. We swam, snorkelled,.paddled, walked & played games on the beach every day. Highly recommend this place 👌

Only 400m long, but so much fun 😃 We loved exploring the trail, leaping over the stepping stones and running along the boardwalks, so we did it several times in both directions! Highly recommend this mini adventure thru the paperbarks and ferns.

When in Bundaberg, one has to visit another one of the 'big' Aussie icons. So we stopped at the Bundy Distillery for a tour & sample. Might have bought a bottle of their limited edition liquors too 😉 Then a quick visit to the Ginger Beer factory too... at least the girls could enjoy this one!

2 night stop in Hervey Bay to restock after our week on K'Gari. 79 visited DWiz for some underbody love, girls hit the shops to restock. Sunsets along the beach were stunning, but for Hervey Bay, that's about it. Then we moved on up to the small sleepy coast town of Elliott Heads for the night.

We made it to Fraser Island, a place we have been hanging to get to, and it did NOT disappoint. Drew in his head has probably visited here 10 times. We stayed at Cathedrals, which we loved, was relatively empty, which was awesome. We met a travel family on the GC and hooked up to do Fraser together, which was epic 🙌

A few nights at Rainbow Beach... and our 1st look at the infamous Inskip Point. Drew wanted to check it out before we attempted towing the van over it to the Barge. Also explored Carlo Sandblow and walked along the beach front. It was a sleepy little town, but can just imagine how hectic it gets during peak season in summer.
