A family road trip through the south of France (and Monaco) is on the itinerary today.

Beginning in the Renaissance city of Lyon, they will then head south through scenic Provence to Nice where they will enjoy day trips to Monaco and views along the azure coast.

Then it is on to the Alpine city Annecy and finally, fairy tale Colmar.

It's (Valentine's) travel day! ✈

Today's travel is my own, and I am heading to London. Instead of a romantic getaway for Valentine's Day, however, this trip is based around a punk rock concert!

A Valentine's night concert from one of my favorite bands just outside London will start off this weekend, during which we will also visit the London Zoo, learn about how gin is distilled, and board the HMS Belfast. We also have reservations at a Michelin-starred restaurant and tickets to a West End show, and plans to hit some of our favorite London restaurants.

Visiting a city you've been to before can be exciting - it allows you to skip the major attractions you've done before and find other, less visited locations to enjoy!

Today is , and perhaps one of the most famous chocolate cakes is the Sacher Torte from the luxurious Sacher Hotel in Vienna, Austria.

A dense chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam, the Sacher Torte is chocolate-glazed perfection. If you can't get to Austria for some of the real thing, you can try to recreate it at home using the (approximate) recipe here!

Important info for travel to the UK!

"Effective Jan. 8, 2025, American citizens will be among those who will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the U.K...The ETA lasts for two years and travelers can use it as many times as they want during that period of time."

From Jan. 8 onwards, there are new rules for U.S. persons entering the U.K.
