Budget matters (of course!), but time is money at Disney. Which why my decision tends to be made by transportation options. The less time spent getting to the parks, the more time you have in the parks. 🎢✨
Some resorts only have buses, which means longer wait times—especially at places with multiple stops like Saratoga Springs and Port Orleans Riverside. If you want to maximize your time, resorts with Skyliner, monorail, or boats are game-changers.
🌟 Top transportation perks:
👉 Skyliner resorts (Pop, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Riviera) – Continuous loading, no waiting for buses, and direct access to EPCOT & Hollywood Studios 🚠
👉 Monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary) – Skip the buses and get straight to Magic Kingdom & EPCOT in style 🚝
👉 Walking-distance resorts (BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club, Contemporary) – The absolute best for easy access with zero wait times 🏃♂️💨
👉 Boat transportation (Wilderness Lodge, Ft Wilderness as well as monorail and Epcot area resorts) – Offering a scenic (and relaxing) way to get to the parks ⛴️
And as an added bonus? Disney transportation is almost an attraction itself! A ride on the monorail or Skyliner can be just as magical as anything inside the parks. ✨
At the end of the day, a resort with better transportation can be worth the extra cost to save time and avoid stress.

As a travel planner and lifelong Disney visitor, I’ve learned a few things that can make or break your trip. These are my top “no-go’s” for making the most of your Disney vacation!
🌟 1. Watching parades on Main Street
Sure, the view is iconic, but the crowds? Not so magical. Instead, I watch from Frontierland—fewer people, better shade, and you can hop on rides while others are still waiting for the parade!
🌟 2. Overloading on character meals
They’re fun, but they’re pricey, take up valuable time, and can leave you feeling rushed. I recommend picking one or two must-dos and enjoying the rest of your meals stress-free.
🌟 3. Skipping rest days on longer trips
Disney trips can be exhausting! Take a day to recharge—explore the resorts, enjoy the pool, or check out Fort Wilderness. You’ll thank yourself later!
🌟 4. Riding Astro Orbiter
This one’s not for me. Between the slow loading process and the dizzying tilt at high altitudes, I’ll happily stick to other attractions.
🌟 5. Waiting too long to press “I’m here” on mobile orders
Want your food faster? Tap “I’m here” before you arrive at the restaurant so it’s ready when you are.
🌟 6. Eating quick service meals at peak times
Lunch and dinner rushes = long waits, no seating, and added stress. Skip the lines by eating early or late—and take advantage of shorter attraction lines during meal times!

Start your day on the right foot!
If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, make sure to hit that follow button ⬆️ for complete crash course series!
When arriving to the parks, there are a few key things to consider:
⏱️ When to arrive
If you are staying onsite, you’re able to enter attractions 30 minutes (ish, could be more) prior to official park open
This means you do want to arrive about an hour before official park open, to make sure you get through security and near the first ride of your choice
🚦Where to Enter
This may seem like an afterthought, but choosing which line to choose for security and to enter from can save you 10-15 minutes, which can turn into 30 minutes or more of ride wait time!
In most cases, people tend to head towards the middle, or the first lanes they see. So taking a few extra steps to the outside lines, furthest from the transportation drop off is the best
But, also keep an eye on how fast the lines are moving or if a family is “stuck” at the entrance
👶🏼Special considerations with young kids
When entering the parks for the first time, you will need to scan your finger to match to your admission. If you have a young kid, I HIGHLY suggest using your own finger for them
Why? The sensors are sensitive, and there is room for a kids small finger to move around. This means that it may not recognize them, and you will need to re-set them up. But first, a manager will need to come by and confirm you’re not trying to sneak in
This is not only annoying, but takes up more time!
If you are going during more crowded times, these tips are even more important, especially getting there early.

Complete list ⬇️
The majority of the over 50 attractions at Walt Disney World do not have any height restriction, meaning even the youngest guests can ride.
However, each park does have rides that will not allow some guests to ride. And it is best to prepare before hand to avoid any upset kiddos 👧(or adults)
In the park, shorter members of the group will be measured at each attractions entrance if there is a possibility they do not meet the requirement, and possibly once more further in the queue.
It’s rare, but possible a child may be able to ride one attraction one day, and not another of the same height requirement another day. My piece of advice - don’t expect to ride the rides within half an inch to your child’s current height.

Guests will be using a similar system (with some major differences) called Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass. If you want a guide emailed to you, just comment LIGHTNING, and I’ll send you a 🆓 guide as well as updates as the dust settles and we all learn the tricks! —— The biggest difference? You can now pre-book attractions and no longer need to wake up at 7 am to get the popular rides 🛌 This benefits folks staying on site, as they can start booking 7 days in advance of their stay, while everyone else needs to wait 3 days in advance of their visit ———- There are lots of benefits to pre-booking, like being able to check availability BEFORE you purchase. For example, if you see Slinky Dog Dash is no longer available on the day you’re planning to visit Hollywood Studios, you can change your plans 💪 —————— You also can now book 3️⃣ attractions at once. But…You must wait to book a new attraction until you use one of those other ones up. You can no longer just book a ride 2 hours after booking a future one. ————— Another change ➡️ rides are now split between groupsAnd you can only book a certain number of rides in each group. Which means you can’t just book the most popular rides first ☹️ This ⬆️ I expect to cause the biggest change to wait times in Disney, and it will be very interesting to see how things change later this week. —————- Make sure to hit that follow button ☝️ as I’ll be providing updates! ————— One more thing - with pre-booking, it is now a whole lot easier for me to book Lightning L
