Please stand clear of the doors….¡Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas! We know these words by heart and maybe you do too?! These familiar words welcome you aboard the the Disney World Monorail’s transportation “highway in the sky”. 🚝
And for funnies...I will say…after a long day in the parks, be sure to know when and where to get off the monorail or else you will “Loop de Loo” around the entire route like we did 🤣
Here are some fun facts about the monorail:
-Walt Disney first discovered the monorail on a family trip to Germany
-The Disney World monorail was built in 1971
-It is made up of three separate tracks that run through Disney World
-The maximum top speed of the monorail surprisingly is only 40 miles per hour…but it feels much faster when you’re suspended above the ground
-The monorail route consists of Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center.
-Simply wait at one of the convenient and well-marked pickup points throughout Walt Disney World Resort and your ride will then arrive usually within 10 minutes
-The monorail opens thirty minutes before opening and one hour after closing for Magic Kingdom. Guests using the monorail for EPCOT should know it opens thirty minutes before opening and two hours after closing
-It accommodates strollers, motorized scooters, and wheelchairs
-They’re Eco friendly
Go Around the World With Me!!
Epcot is one of my favorite parks! It is divided into 2 parts…Future World and World Showcase. Today I’ll be giving you some info on the World Showcase- a place where there are some great rides, fabulous shopping experiences, plenty of yummy new foods to try, AND you don’t even need a passport to visit the 11 countries featured! Ha!
Start in Mexico, and you will then enter Norway, China, Germany, Italy, followed by The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and finally Canada on a 1.2 mile promenade that encircles the 40 acre World Showcase lagoon.
-Travel around Mexico in a relaxing water ride where Donald and his pals join in
-Enter Norway and take a musical boat ride with the characters from Frozen
-Stop off in France for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure…a new trackless 4D ride that will not disappoint
There are character experiences, from Mulan and Snow White to Belle and Anna and Elsa! Pick up a Christmas ornament in the German Christmas shop or watch Chefs prepare on their teppanyaki grill at Teppan Edo in Japan.
The opportunities are endless and you will discover something new every time you go! You are in for an adventure chock full of global treats and eats, unique experiences, and culture galore at Epcot’s World Showcase!

Why Stay in the Magic at The Most Magical Place on Earth?
1. Proximity- It’s fun AND easy to get to the parks when you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort. You have the option of staying at a property on the monorail system or skyliner transport whisking you to multiple parks with usually no line or waiting!
2. Enjoying More Time At The Parks- Disney World Resort Guests get extra time to play EVERY day! Disney Resort Guests can get into any of Disney’s 4 theme parks 30 minutes prior to the posted opening time every day! That might not seem like much, but let me tell you…we have gotten on some BIG rides like Seven Dwarfs and Rise of the Resistance before other guests are even allowed through the gate!
3. Booking Dining Reservations- If you are staying on property, you can make a Dining Reservation 60 days in advance of your stay AND you can book for your entire resort stay length!
4. Rooms for Everyone- Disney offers a variety of rooms and suites and villas OH MY! Maybe you need 2 bathrooms or you have a larger family that requires a kitchen and washer and dryer? Those options are available! Most standard rooms offer 2 queens, some have a queen and a pull down bed, and some resorts even have a child size bed that pulls out from the wall. There are lots of possibilities to accommodate your family!
5. Resort Activities- There are activities that vary at each resort that happen every day! From trivia to s’mores to movies under the stars! For our family, staying at one resort where we could see the fireworks and even hear the music too, was just INCREDIBLE!
6. Proximity to the Resort for breaks- Because you are close, you can head back to the resort for a little “snooze” or some fun in the sun at the many fabulous resort pools!
7. Early Access to Purchase Individual Lightning Lane Entry- If you’re a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel, you’re eligible to make your first individual Lightning Lane purchase starting at 7:00 AM each day of your visit. You can select a one-hour arrival window, one at a time, for up to 2 different attractions per day. Guests of Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels may also enjoy this early-access benefit.
8. Extended Evening Theme Park Hours- Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels or Disney Deluxe Villas can enjoy extended evening hours—experiencing select attractions, shops and dining after regular park hours—in select theme parks on select nights

Disney’s Art of Animation: A Value Resort
Staying at a Disney’s Art of Animation Resort invites you to explore the storybook landscapes seen in such classics as Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.
Recently we stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation and there were so many things we loved about this resort! First and the biggest plus for us was SPACE! We were in a 2 room suite with 2 bathrooms. We had a queen bed, the table folded down to provide a Murphy bed and the couch pulled out to provide another bed! The bed was raised off the floor in the bedroom so we could tuck away our luggage. We had a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker also. Second, we had access to the Skyliner Transportation system that would take us to Epcot and Hollywood Studios in a flash! We never had to wait in line and had the Skyliner car to ourselves! The Disney bus system whisked us to Magic Kingdom quickly as well. Because this is a value resort, you can expect great theming and space but perhaps not luxury like The Grand Floridian. All that to say, it had exactly what we needed for the short time we were there and the quick access to the parks was HUGE for us!
This resort is great for larger families (up to 6 people) and also provides non- suite rooms. This resort also features the single largest pool- The Big Blue pool with Finding Nemo themes as well as 2 other pools. The Landscape of Flavors Food Court is great for picking up quick items and a late night pizza as well as a variety of other foods.
From delightfully themed family suites to wondrously detailed courtyards, Disney’s Art of Animation “draws” you and your family in to become a part of some of your favorite animated movies!

Speed across the world with no horizons in this high stakes race based on the Disney, sci-fi film Tron: Legacy
Tron is featured at Magic Kingdom Park in Tomorrowland. Guests must be 48 inches or taller. You will secure your belongings in a locker. It is a thrill level ride with big drops in the dark! You will climb aboard you’re very own Lightcycle to take off on this high-speed adventure! A virtual queue will be in place when Tron opens tomorrow, April 4, 2023. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to enter the attraction. Each guest can request to enter the virtual queue, no more than once per day during regular park hours. Guests can also purchase Individual Lightning Lane entry for this attraction…however, Lightning Lane entry purchases are limited in availability.
* here is my tip for you… We woke up at 6:55 AM, and one of us was on the app and one of us was on the world clock. When it got to 6:59 we did a countdown so that we could hit the virtual queue button the minute it turns 7 AM!
* also, the Lightcycle ride vehicle is like nothing we have ever experienced… You climb on it like a motorcycle and pull down on the grip bars…then it will lock your legs and secure your back in place where you are laying over the cycle throughout the ride!🏍️
You will not want to miss this ride! It did not disappoint! IT SO MUCH FUN!!!
