Old Quarry Smokehouse Private Food Club
Do yourself a favour and head to the Old Quarry Smokehouse before the end of this year. It's home to Katey and Andrew, and is nestled in Assagay.
The set up is rustic, warm, natural with weaver birds nesting a few metres away in a beautiful Fever tree - our kinda place.
We tried the pulled pork pizza but the star or the show was the Surf 'n Turf Special: a 250g Sirloin steak served with potato crisps and a Avocado cup salad, which is a halved Avo stuffed with a rich prawn thermidor sauce and parmesan wafer, nestled happily on a bed of peppery watercress with roasted garlic, and topped with pickled radish and fennel, and a grilled king prawn to crown the dish.
Next the hosts, Katey and Warren are a down to earth team serving the most pleasurable experience.
The Old Quarry Smokehouse is a private food club so booking is essential. Katey explains:' Its really by invitation and so we encourage people to book. We don't take walk-ins and we stick to our menu which we do well."
