When you’re in Portugal, don’t forget to try traditional snacks. It is eaten by hand, with a fork or spoon, bread on the side and a glass served. Preferably a very cold beer.
And please don’t call them tapas – a Spanish expression, not a Portuguese one. The Portuguese are very proud of their petiscos, because the food is about people – the kind of experience that includes licking your fingers, refreshing your soul with beer, tasting wines and socializing until you say enough.

Açorda, is a typical Alentejo dish. It is a gift of the presence of Arabs in our lands. It also seems that açorda is a subsistence dish, probably following food crises. And its arrival is due to its ease of preparation and above all to the simple mixture of basic products. Bread has always been, and still is, a fundamental food.

The Portuguese have a soft spot for bread and every meal must have a good slice!
In Portugal, the tradition of eating bread is lost in time and is the basis of Portuguese food. Made with three main cereals – corn, rye and wheat – bread is different from region to region.
And there is a bakery who still produces bread 100% with Portuguese cereals and in an old way: is Gleba.

"I was born in Lisbon and, although I love to travel, it is in Portugal that I feel at home… In the blue of the sea, in the gray castles and in the green vineyards!
And, of course, in the hugs of the friendliest people in the world!
My favorite food? Bacalhau a lagareiro! (Only exception in my vegetarian diet).
Can you imagine? A cod fillet slowly roasted over coals, accompanied by potatoes with skin and drizzled with heated oil and garlic! How could I resist? And of course, to accompany, a very fresh glass of white wine."

"I’m Carla or Maria, in Portugal the name Maria is a tradition and you can decide to use the name you prefer :)
I like good people, culture, arts, politics, gastronomy, nature, and stories.
And I'm a “alfacinha de gema”. What translated into English would be like saying a “pure lettuce”. A nice nickname given to those born in Lisbon. Why? It will be one of the stories they will learn in this city.
My favorite gastronomy is the one that presents itself with a mix of flavors and colors. For example, I can't resist to a good vegetable quiche accompanied by salads or monkfish rice. And of course, I always leave a little place for my favorite dessert. Which one? The Pastel de nata, what else!"

💁‍♀️This is time to meet our team 🥰

ROSSANA
🇵🇹🇬🇧🇺🇸🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸🇮🇹

I am 100% Neapolitan. I left Italy to study in Paris and then I moved to Vienna, where for long time I guided tourists from all over the world. When I arrived in Lisbon, officially only for my holidays, I fell in love with the city. Lisbon captured my heart and I did not go away.
And because I am not only a guide but also a real foodie (actually I have the name of a candy, so it was in my destiny), I am absolutely in love with the Portuguese gastronomy.
In Italy we learn as kids to cook (and eat, of course) and now I bring this passion in my job. My favorite dish in Portugal? Difficult to say because I love everything. But above all I cannot resist to a fried alheira (a chicken or game meat sausage) with French fries and a fried egg (but don’t tell it to my personal trainer!)

They start the working day at an amazing time for a liqueur, eight in the morning, until the end of the day.
