Key phrase "Safe spaces." If you shared something you felt was shameful and it was weaponized against you later. That wasn't a safe space. Build your discernment muscle so you learn how to tell who is safe to share with.
I will never tell someone I'm safe because that's a trust I know must be earned by consistent action.
I wouldn't trust a person who says, "You can trust me."

I used to loathe when people would shrug at a bad situation and say, "It is what it is."
When I was younger, I would be angry that people wouldn't live up to my moral expectations. I expected them to do right by each other and I expected them to strive to do their most.
Today, it IS what it is.
My expectations shifted.
I stopped expecting that utopian society. I learned that the most powerful power I have is over me, what I allow and how I perceive circumstances.
My favorite thing that I recently learned and am practicing at is, "If I don't like it, I don't have to change it, I just don't have to stay for it." I'm an energy conservationist.
I am creating a soft, peaceful life. A thing I never had and every chance I get, I protect what little peace I have and it starts with not having a civil war within myself about situations that are what they are.
It's definitely a "Pick your battles" lifestyle.

I'm not saying the person who wrote this is a narcissist. I AM saying that this is grooming for narcissist. They bank on us staying silent as a show of "strength" and "class". We're not doing that anymore. Like an accountability relay race, Meg the Stallion passed the baton to Kat Williams, he passed it to Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin' opened the doors for the world to raise our voices against abusers.
