We are now a 100% mobile, solar-powered business capable of offering overnight stargazing experiences to any who wish to participate!
Complete with two computerized telescopes (8” and 12”), a smart telescope, an astrophotography setup, chairs for up to 10 participants, utilities to offer hot water for warm drink services, and a daytime editing room!

Talks of the next new moon star party have been happening…we’ll see you again in mind-August…the height of milky way season ✨ 🌌 🔭
As always, this one is going to be its own unique experience and different from all the others while maintaining the ethos and intention of our New Moon Star Party.
With improved systems to facilitate telescope observation, including high-def monitors and tablets to view deep space in real time, and a brand new 12” dobsonian telescope (in addition to our 8” SCT) to see faraway objects even better than before, we’re ready to show a whole different sky than last time!
And we will close the night out with fire performances and a dance party in the 65’ geodesic dome.

One of my personal favorite galaxies in the night sky to look at, M51, also known as the Whirlpool galaxy.
This is our most impressive and active display of galactic cannibalism…sure put things into perspective for me and made that person who cut me off in traffic in the morning seem far less important in the grand scheme of things.

HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who made the trip to the Earth Day New Moon Star Party at Gateway Ranch!!!

That was hands-down our best star party yet, and it was primarily, in part, thanks to you, our lovely attendees!

Everyone had a fantastic attitude, fun spirits, and an open mind to experience and explore something new...whether that was Gateway Ranch, the beautiful night sky, or the fire spinning, we saw nothing but smiles and fun times to be had!

Dinner by Square Root Foods and tamales by our good friend's next door topped off an unforgettable evening.

Please keep an eye on your email as we will send out a follow-up with all the photos captured on Saturday, along with a special thank you and encouragement to come to our next star party later this summer!

Pictured here is a chain of galaxies located in the Virgo supercluster, called "Markarians Chain". There are roughly 2 dozen galaxies in this image...every "smudge" is a galaxy...go ahead and zoom in to try and count them all!

Happy (late) Spring!
We’re finally getting into proper Spring as the flowers are beginning to bud and the best galaxies in the northern hemisphere are starting to be in prime locations for viewing and imaging!
I decided to revisit M101, the “Pinwheel Galaxy” last night.
M101 is found just above the handle of the Big Dipper and is a grand spiral galaxy, the most common galaxy that we’re aware of and what we believe our own Milky Way galaxy to resemble.
