We ❤️ these photos which were sent to us by a visitor this week. One of our favourite places in the world. I love warming up by the fire in the Langdon Beck after a walk spent counting the beautiful Black Grouse in this area.

Good beer….good food and a good fire.

Such a welcome sight this year… I hope they aren’t caught by snow and with fingers crossed, hope we’ve had the only snow already….a dusting in the lower Dale but I know there was more higher up.

I saw my first lambs yesterday. Not in Teesdale but there may well be some.

Thank goodness spring is starting to unfurl her skirts revealing vibrancy in a still cold earth.

We love Egglestone Abbey and it is intertwined in our collective family memories, having spent so many happy hours exploring, picnicking, playing and photographing the atmospheric 13th century ruins, former home to the “white canons”.

I feel it’s a wonderful space to fire the imagination of children... perfect for accompanied exploration.

Touchingly now our children are grown, they continue to visit, introducing their new friends to their childhood haunt.
